Gianni Macalli (born 1950) is a visual artist and former professor[1] both in high schools and at the Brera Academy. He is one of the members of the Empathic Movement (Empathism).

Career

From 2002 to 2011, Macalli taught artistic techniques workshops in the curricular course of literary criticism and literature compared to the University of Bergamo. Later he taught "New Materials Technology" in the Product Design course, Department of design and applied arts at the Brera Academy in Milan. Since 2016 he has been appointed artistic director of the "ArtiDesignImpresa" in Soncino. Author of various installations and works of art, including the public work "The reversed perspective", the fountain of Piazza Fulcheria in Crema.[2] In 2009 he participated in the 53rd International Art Exhibition Biennale di Venezia. In 2021 he participates in the 17th International Architecture Exhibition of Venice - Biennale Sessions - with the Department of Architectural and Cultural Heritage of Brera. He has exhibited in numerous exhibitions and art galleries both in Italy and abroad. He was often inspired by nature.[3] He is co-author of various art publications. He adhered to Empathism.[4]
