Suggestions for Improvement

  • This article does not cite its sources.
  • This article may not contain sufficient content to be a stand-alone article. Consider placing the stub-class tag on the page, incorporating this information within a more general article, or adding more encyclopedic content to it.
  • There are also several broken wikilinks in the article. Before inserting a wikilink in an article for a non-existent article for future use, the editor should create a stub article.

Created by Writ or Patent

I do not think this title was created by Writ, and in fact was created by Patent, see Cracroft's peerage which I believe gives an accurate reproduction of the Complete Peerage on this matter:

The limitation given is to "heirs male of his body", which would not be the case if created by Writ.
  • I think the confusion has arisen as the title is merged with Baron Mowbray & Baron Segrave which are both created by Writ.
