Lt Muhammad Asim Shaheed
Lt Muhammad Asim (21 Mar 1983 – 31 Aug 2008) was a military officer of the Pakistan Army. Lt Muhammad Asim joined Pakistan Army in 2006 and was later commissioned in the 36 Azad Kashmir Regiment of Pakistan Army. He was martyred during Operation Al-Mizan during an Improvised Explosive Device(IED) attack by the terrorist in Shangla District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Personal Life
Lt Muhammad Asim was born on 21 March 1983 in Dawlat banda, a small village of Swabi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Later on, the family shifted to Mardan. Lt Muhammad Asim completed intermediate education at a government postgraduate college in Mardan and joined Pakistan Armed Forces in 2004.
Lt Muhammad Asim was an excellent sportsman during his educational period. He was and still is famous in his area as a very smart, kind-hearted, and caring individual.
Military Career
Lt Muhammad Asim joined Pakistan Army as a commissioned officer in 2004. After that, Lt Muhammad Asim joined 36 Azad Kashmir Regiment.
During Operation Al-Mizan in 2008, Lt Muhammad Asim was deployed at the Shangla Region to safeguard his country from terrorists. During the operation, Lt Muhammad Asim fought courageously and bravery. His efforts and fighting skills are famous among officers and soldiers. On 22 Aug 2008, while returning from a local official gathering (Jarga: in local language), the terrorists attacked their convoy with an IED followed by crossfire. Lt Muhammad Asim and two soldiers were seriously injured during the attack. However, all were evacuated to CMH Abbottabad. Later on, one soldier embraced shahadat. Lt Muhammad Asim embraced shahadat on 31 Aug 2008 due to severe injuries. The officer played his role for his country, which he desires every time and throughout his military career, and left a lesson for us that Country is above all person wishes. His first duty was to safeguard his country even if it cost his life, that is what Lt Muhammad Asim did. He has accomplished his task for his motherland and got respect and honor for complete life. Everyone in Mardan and Swabi is proud of the young soul.
