Original description: Claydon Station (former) Claydon was a station on the London & North Western Railway's line between Oxford and Bletchley. The line and the station opened in 1851 and closed at the end of 1967, although, as can be seen here, the trackwork was left in situ. Various proposals have been put forward to reinstate the line as a rail link between Oxford and Cambridge via Bletchley. Of the station only the eastbound platform, visible here, remains, while a rather rudimentary wooden post holds a derelict signal lamp. |
