TITLE: Artists' camp at Balmoral,; c. 1890.

NOTE: Several camps were established in Mosman in the late 1800's as a semi-permanent retreat from urban living.The best known were the Artists' camps. The one in this photograph was established by the cartoonist Livingston Hopkins ("Hop" of the Bulletin) at the northern end of Edwards Beach.
