She is best known for her talk show The Omaliving Show, a show that inspires the youths to rise out of mediocrity by focusing on self – discovery, our society , value system and nagging issues. Oma is a widely travelled motivational speaker who has spoken at numerous events, both big and small. She is a creative writer who regularly writes about society’s ills and proffers solutions to them.

Oma’s eloquence on stage and superb use of the English language can be attributed to her affinity for reading novels at a tender age. ==Early Life/ Education==

Oma was born in Onitsha to Mr. John Anona – a banker and lecturer - and Mrs. Nonye Anona, an home economist and educationist. She is the first child in a family of seven children.

Oma was enrolled at Redemption Primary School, GRA, Onitsha for her primary education. After obtaining her First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC), she proceeded to the Federal Government Girls College, IBUSA, Delta State. After, she got admission into Anambra State University, Ulli where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry. Oma was initially studying Medicine and Surgery but had to quit because her school was de-licensed from teaching the course.
Talking about her upbringing and family background, Oma said:“My parents would have preferred a Medical Doctor!. I come from a background where school, professional courses and certificates are the only measures of success.”

Throughout her school days, Oma was academically sound and won a lot of prizes consistently. Among her crown moments was, emerging third best student in her set after seating for the Junior WAEC Exams. She was among the best graduating students of her Secondary School academic set.

While at University, Oma occupied quite a number of leadership positions which included: being the Vice President of her Department and Secretary General of her faculty. As a member of the Junior Chambers International (JCI), she held the position of the Vice President. She carried her excellent personality to the service year.

At the National Youth Service Corps orientation camp, (NYSC), she was crowned best dancer at the Inter-platoon social competition. During her service year, she joined the Charity Community Development Service (CDS) so as to contribute charitably to her host community.

In 2012, Marilyn Oma Anona was the presenter of the Housing Circuit Half Hour show on NTA International. She presented the Poetry Pot Program for MyTv Africa from the year 2013 to 2014. The poetry pot was a show which sought to inspire people through poems. All poems that were presented on air were written herself.

In January 2015, she started The Omaliving Show as its producer and host, positions which she continues to occupy.

On June 18,2016, Oma started the “Business and Family Lifeline” program, a program geared towards bringing young people together for the sake of networking for better business prospects and achievements of goals.

In the year 2010, Oma made a debut in acting by starring alongside, Desmond Elliot, Kalu Ikeagwu and Clarion Chukwuma in the nollywood movie, “Family Romance”. She was casted as Steph.

In 2015, she was casted as Oma in the Tv Drama Series: (Life and Circles). A drama series which had the likes of Nzube Tojue, Hope Edoghane, Thank God Enaholo and Kachi Offiah.

Oma has consistently sought to have a positive impact in society. To achieve this, she has organized, and spoken at various empowerment and personal development seminars. Among the events and projects she has anchored are: The March against Societal Vices, The Prison Visitation, The Seminar against Domestic Violence & Rape, The Independence Day Picnic.
As of 5th of may 2015, Oma had started a charity and empowerment project named The Right Stage for the sake of helping vulnerable children and youths between the ages of 6 to 25, by taking them off the streets and giving them the right atmosphere for a better life.

Oma was awarded the best writer in the best writer category in the award giving ceremony hosted and sponsored by the Nigerian Youth Development Program in 2012.

On the 7th November 2015, Oma received an award from Didactic Humanitarian Awards in recognition and appreciation of her contribution and effort in making a better society.

The 23rd day of April, 2016 saw Oma awarded the Personality of the year at the Xperience Womanity Awards 2016.
