Meredith Rachael Jones (born 1965) is an Australian-British cultural theorist, currently employed as Reader in Gender and Media at the Brunel University London and as director of the Research Centre for Global Lives at Brunel University.[1] She was educated at the University of Melbourne (BA), the University of Sydney (BAHons), the University of Technology, Sydney (GradDipComm) and Western Sydney University (Ph.D.), Jones has also taught at the University of Technology Sydney.[2]
She studies feminism, issues of gender, theories of embodiment, body modifications, media, and aesthetics. She has written articles about Keeping Up with the Kardashians for The Conversation[3] and The Guardian newspapers,[4] and in 2015 she organized the world's first academic conference for scholarship on the Kardashians.[5][6] On Twitter, academic reception to the announced "Kimposium" was mixed.[7]
