Ashutosh

[edit]

Hi,

You said you like to keep the articles Neutral but your article is exactly the opposite. The references for the article is newspaper articles that are biased. Sadly, news is always sensationalized in our world. If you really want to know who Ashutosh maharaj is go to his webpage or visit an ashram. The information you have put on about Dalip being the son, etc has already been proven false in court. You can view the judgement if you wish. Your article is defaming an individual who is doing so much good in the world and something that everyone should be made aware of. I request you to please reinstate the article that I put up. If people want to know about the controversies and biases they can read the papers. Wikipedia is supposed to provide the truth. Peacebirth (talk) 14:37, 5 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Those newspapers are considered reliable on WP. I am not interested in knowing what good or bad Ashutosh is done. I only write whatever newspapers report. So if you want to get anything changed please bring the news source with you. Regarding to Dilip also, if they court has said anything bring the news source. WP is suppose to provide truth and thats what we are doing. It is not a mouth piece of any person or organization. --Vigyanitalkਯੋਗਦਾਨ 14:50, 5 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Kirtan Singh

[edit]

Hello Mr. I have no idea, why you hate so much. This is not my personal page, you should promote India' good souls, sants or social workers. You are trying your best to divide Sikhs n Hindus, Go n talk to Hindus of baba Kirtan Singh's village .They will better explain you, how good he was n how he helped every one, irrespective of their caste, religion or colour.

Shred your hate for Sikhs n promote the Page, for love n harmony.

Peace, leave baba ji's page please.

Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.55.223.34 (talk) 23:36, 8 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I am not here to promote anyone and it doesn't matter how good he was. What matter is the notability. Are there enough newspapers magazines eyc talking about him or not ? WP is not for promotional purposes. Vigyanitalkਯੋਗਦਾਨ 23:46, 8 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Ashutosh (Spiritual leader)

[edit]

Hello, please remove those contents which is not true and just based on some assumptions made by few magazines or newspaper. Please go through official website of Punjab and Haryana High court which is http://lobis.nic.in/. [1]. Myself being a hindu, I have never seen so much respect for Sikhism anywhere else than Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan founded and headed by Ashutosh Maharaj Ji. I am very much assuring you that there are always golden words for sikh gurus in the literature of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan. You can find them out. Only few politically ill motivated people have spoken such words for Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji. And all of them have been rejected by courts as there are no evidence of such tasks. Only good has been said about Sikhism. I hope that you soon will study and research more and provide accurate knowledge on the page that you have created. Please mail me at priyeshndixit@gmail.com if you want to know more or discuss. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Priyeshndixit (talkcontribs)

I noticed you have mananged to get protection for Akhand Kirtani Jatha, due to "hit and runs" from IP's. Could we get the same for Diet in Sikhism. Anonymous IP's keep adding WP:NOTRELIABLE sources to it. Thanks DeludedFan (talk) 11:53, 18 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi DeludedFan, You can make a request for the page protection at WP:RPP. An admin will see the page history to determine is the page protection is required. But normally page protection is granted when there is obvious disruption. Only a content dispute is not enough prerequisite for asking page protection. So you can first review the guidelines to determine if page protection is required. The method to ask for protection is also given at the same page. But I use a tool called Twinkle, which makes these kind of tasks very easy. You can also enable for you, by follow the instruction at the twinkle page. Hope it helps. Tell me if anything is not clear. --Vigyanitalkਯੋਗਦਾਨ 13:25, 18 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Many thanks for this. I don't this the IP's there understand the concept of WP:Reliable and that any site set of by a Maharishi/Sant/Baba or Guru does not mate it gospel. :) Thanks DeludedFan (talk) 12:24, 19 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please correct your information or dont post anything about him if you dont know full information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ranjodhbuttar (talkcontribs) 14:35, 2 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Using font tags in your signature

[edit]

Hello there! I'm working on a project trying to bring most of the coding on Wikipedia up to the most current standards (HTML5), and I noticed that your signature is using <font>...</font> tags which were deprecated in HTML 4.0 Transitional, marked as invalid in 4.0 Strict, and are not part of HTML5 at all. I'd love to help you update your signature to use newer code, and if you're interested, I suggest replacing:

<font size="2" face="Kokonor" color="green">Vigyani</font>talkਯੋਗਦਾਨ

with:

<span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Kokonor;color:green">Vigyani</span>talkਯੋਗਦਾਨ

which will result in a 167 character long signature with an appearance of: Vigyanitalkਯੋਗਦਾਨcompared to your existing 150 character long signature of: Vigyanitalkਯੋਗਦਾਨ — Either way. Happy editing! Darylgolden(talk) Ping when replying 01:03, 4 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Talk:Satyananda Saraswati

[edit]

Yes it was a personal attack, if not, entirely discouraging. I have removed it and you should also remove all unhelpful discussions. If the editor recovers same comment or makes another same comment, then it is abuse of talk(page). Bladesmulti (talk) 09:49, 5 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

User:Bladesmulti, hmm, from your edit summary here, it looks as if you think that I recovered any of his comments. I hope that is not the case.--Vigyanitalkਯੋਗਦਾਨ 09:53, 5 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
You hadn't at all, I had read your comment and, I continued that you are correct, but you have to remove such violation yourself. It is almost impossible to convince an editor to remove personal attack that they have made, that's why policies allows you to remove them. Bladesmulti (talk) 09:56, 5 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. --Vigyanitalkਯੋਗਦਾਨ 09:57, 5 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Vigyani,

I had written Satyananda was never put on trial and neither convicted. But why did you remove it? I have searched thoroughly there is no public record for trial or conviction that qualifies my statement. If you have any sources for trial or conviction please share.Protocol108 (talk) 15:41, 9 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You will need to show some sources which explicitly state the statement you are making. Thats who WP works. We don't add anything more than what the sources say. --Vigyanitalkਯੋਗਦਾਨ 15:44, 9 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Valmiki

that article is about a saint whose common name is Maharshi Valmiki,as well as Mahatma Gandhi,The real name of Mahatma Gandhi was Mohan Das Karamchand Gandhi but his common name is Mahatma Gandhi even then Mahatma is also a honorific.the meaning of mahatma is 'Great Soul.Such like Mahatma Gandhi,The real name of this saint and poet is Valmiki,But his common name is Maharshi Valmiki. Why cant you change mahatma gandhi into just gandhi there are more than 10000 ref links that prefers him as Gandhi,Don't you this is a partisanship? are you jealous of Maharshi Valmiki because he is a dalit poet? and you may be from an savarna community like brahmins, vaishya, kshatriya? am I right Vigyani? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Volt60x (talkcontribs) 08:40, 6 January 2015 (UTC) [reply]

Regarding Mahatama Gandhi, please see various "move requests" at that article's talk page to find out what its title is so. Also see WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS, in short each article is examined on its own merit. So Mahatama Gandhi's title bears no influence on your move request. I am not bothered about the title of Mahatama Gandhi, if you are, go ahead and try to change that. --Vigyanitalkਯੋਗਦਾਨ 08:47, 6 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Help needed against bullying

[edit]

As per the RfC results on the "Punjabi language and its scripts" issue, the mention of the niche/historical usage of Devanagari should be mentioned somewhere in the article and it is already there. There is no need of it being listed in the very first line of the article as that would grant it the same position as Gurmukhi and Shahmukhi (which it doesn't enjoy). But when I edited as per this middle-ground solution, User Anupam has again started bullying me into accepting his version of the article. Please intervene and give your views on the talk-page of Punjabi language. Thanks! --Babanwalia (talk) 06:40, 7 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Jat

[edit]

OK dude but jats were rulers and warriors from starting. You can make edit by seeing it on jatland and Wikipedia. It has various princely states for example Sahanpur Fafoond and Jangladesh.Colonel Todd mentioned jat caste in list of 36 royal clans. Why it has not been mentioned in whole article.Deva Samhita has the chapter on the evolution of jats. So how can you write them as farmers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thakurela (talkcontribs) 08:41, 9 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It is best to discuss this on the article talk page. So that other editors can also participate. As far as I remember, Jatland is considered an unreliable sources. So it is not used as a proof. --Vigyanitalkਯੋਗਦਾਨ 08:44, 9 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Namaste Vigyani, I chose to undo the talk page discussion you collapsed. I felt it was not required. Few editors participated. Some on-topic and some off-topic comments were made. One guy telling other user to brush up your grammar, other one explaining how to get over a few allegations and the last one telling other to read everything again. I have removed this forum discussion. Bladesmulti (talk) 05:42, 12 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Joshua had appreciated the comment by Kautilya there, though I found it off-topic and wanted to understand it in the context of the discussion. Thanks for removing it. --AmritasyaPutraT 06:08, 12 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
That's why he used Kautilya3's user talk(page), otherwise it would be offtopic if he had replied there. Bladesmulti (talk) 06:11, 12 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I agree. Making off-topic generic discussion on their user talk pages is best. --AmritasyaPutraT 06:31, 12 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
My change has been reverted, I still consider that Vigyani's move was as better. Bladesmulti (talk)
Oh, sad! The personal attack by Kautilya on newbie Enigmafay is absolutely deplorable. Even if Enigmafay is absolutely incorrect, he has digressed from the original question and by telling "find a new Guru" and "you are wasting my time", and more, he is spoiling the discussion. --AmritasyaPutraT 07:16, 12 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
This case was a good example of how discussions get derailed, when the off-topic comments are allowed to stay. The off-topic comments create confusion and let the new editors feel aggrieved. Anyway, I wouldn't object to my collapsing getting reverted.--Vigyanitalkਯੋਗਦਾਨ 01:28, 13 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Vigyani ji, I see you are very much active on English Wikipedia but i want to tell you that Punjabi Wikipedia needs your support. Everyone would like if you restart contributing to Punjabi Wiki. Thanks. --Satdeep Gill (talkcontribs 03:26, 23 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

 • Hello Satdeep Gill, thanks for your message. I stopped editing pa.wiki, as I wanted to focus all my attention to en.wiki. Also I felt that the aims of pa.wiki are not very clear. All of us mostly translate articles of our own interests from en.wiki on random topics, with not even a single topic reasonably complete. Therefor, it is not a comprehensive useful encyclopedia for any one given topic and going by its current functioning, it will not be in any reasonable amount of time. Plus, there are not much set guidelines and policies, allowing certain users to edit based on their whims and fancies. I do not mean to discourage you, but this is what I felt and decided to stop editing there in order to focus all my attention to Punjab-related topics on this wikipedia, which also need lot of attention. Anyway, due to my real life jobs, I am now going to stop editing here as well very actively. --User:Vigyani 02:29, 2 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ways to improve Alexandra Aitken

[edit]

Hi, I'm Kudpung. Vigyani, thanks for creating Alexandra Aitken!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Copy edit and rewrite into conventional English. E.g., avoiding the use of contractions; using conjugations correct in person, tense, and number.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 13:39, 26 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Your contributed article, Francis D'Souza (politician)

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Francis D'Souza (politician). First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Francis Dsouza. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Francis Dsouza – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Bharatiya29 (talk) 16:44, 26 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You are free to edit the content of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bharti Shriji (2nd nomination) during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Possible removal of AWB access due to inactivity

You are being contacted because you may qualify as an inactive user of AWB. First, if you have any input on the proposed bot task, please feel free to comment at the BRFA. Should the bot task be approved, your access to AWB may be uncontroversially removed if you do not resume editing within a week's time. Notice

The article Uttrang Kaur Khalsa has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Does not meet WP:NBIO

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Ashutosh (spiritual leader) moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Ashutosh (spiritual leader). Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability, it has too many problems of language or grammar and repeated addition of WP:COPYVIO, promotional, primary sourced info, & sockpuppetry is concerning. Editing from multiple IPs (103.172.86.158, 122.186.185.2) & accts (SmiteJain) is highlighy discouraged. Also the individual's notability is questionable, with most coverage focused on controversies surrounding their death, and other sources lack GNG standards. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Nitish shetty (talk) 08:03, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
