Conjugation of regular -ar verbs in Norwegian (Nynorsk)

These are called "-er verbs" or "-e verbs" because the present tense ends in -er, while the simple past tense ends in -e. Like with all regular Nynorsk verbs, the writer may use either -a or -e in the infinitive.

Example: å møte/møta (to meet)

  • Infinitive: å møte/møta
  • Present: møter
  • Simple past: møtte
  • Future: skal møte/møta, vil møte/møta
  • Conditional: skulle møte/møta, ville møte/møta
  • Past participle:
Singular møtt
Plural møtte
  • Perfect: har møtt
  • Pluperfect: hadde møtt
  • Future perfect: skal ha møtt, vil ha møtt
  • Conditional perfect: skulle ha møtt, ville ha møtt
  • Imperative: møt
