Sarauniya Idia ita ce mahaifiyar Esigie, Oba (sarkin) Benin wanda ya yi sarauta daga 1504 zuwa 1550. Ta taka muhimmiyar rawa a wajen tasowa da kuma mulkin ɗanta, ana daukan ta a matsayin babbar jaruma wacce ta yi yaƙi ba ji ba gani kafin da kuma lokacin sarautar ɗanta a matsayin oba ( sarki ) na mutanen Edo.[1] Sarauniya Idia taka rawar gani a wajen tabbatar da taken oba ga Esigie bayan mutuwar mahaifinsa Oba Ozolua. A dalilin haka, ta hada rundumar sojoji don su yaƙi ɗan'uwansa Arhuaran, wanda daga baya aka ci shi da yaƙi. Ta haka ne Esigie ya zama Sarki na 17 na Benin.[2] [3]
Esigie ne ya kafa taken iyoba ( uwar sarauniya ) kuma ya baiwa mahaifiyarsa, tare da Eguae-Iyoba (Fadar Uwar Sarauniya). [4]
Nasara kan mutanen Igala
Bayan haka, 'yan kabilar Igala da ke makwabtaka da su sun tura mayaƙa haye kogin Benuwai don su kwace ikon arewacin Benin. Esigie ya ci Igala, ya sake dawo da haɗin kai da ƙarfin soja na masarautar. Mahaifiyarsa Idia ta sami babban yabo game da waɗannan nasarorin [5] kamar yadda aka ba ta shawara ta siyasa, tare da ƙarfinta na sihiri da ilimin likitanci, a matsayin abubuwa masu mahimmanci na nasarar Esigie a fagen fama.
