Like all other Gyms in Paldea, the Artazon Gym building itself is simply used for registering Gym challengers. The Gym Test and Gym battle are both conducted at other locations within Artazon.
Gym Test
The Artazon Gym Test is Sunflora Hide-and-Seek, which is initiated at the Sunflora Lawn. The player must find ten Sunflora hiding across Artazon in order to pass. After a Sunflora is found, it will follow the player until the end of the Gym Test. Sometimes, a Sunflora will battle the player upon being found.
These Sunflora cannot be caught; the Bag will not display the Poké Balls pocket and the battle interface will not display the X Button shortcut to use a Poké Ball. The player also cannot escape; the game will display "You can't escape!" (instead of the usual "You couldn't get away!") and not take up the player's turn.
The Artazon Gym appeared in Nemona and Brassius and…, where Brassius had temporarily closed it due to him experiencing an artist's slump. After Liko, Roy, and Nemona had gathered lots of Sunflora to the Sunflora Lawn in the hopes of cheering Brassius up, Brassius challenged Roy to an unofficial battle to test if he was worthy of facing the Black Rayquaza. Despite Roy's Fuecoco learning Stomping Tantrum during the match, he was still defeated after Brassius Terastallized his Sudowoodo.
In HZ048, the Artazon Gym served as central hub for the Artazon Art Festival. Liko, Roy, and Dot created their own pieces of art at the Gym, following which Roy had his first Terastal Training test battle against Brassius. This time around, Roy was able to use Terastallization as well and defeat Brassius, impressing the Gym Leader and allowing Roy to pass the test.
Sudowoodo is Brassius's second known Pokémon. It is capable of Terastallizing into a Grass type. Brassius used it in his battle against Roy and his Fuecoco. Despite Fuecoco learning Stomping Tantrum during the battle, Sudowoodo was still able to defeat it after Terastallizing.
In HZ048, Sudowoodo was used to battle Roy and his Fuecoco a second time for his Terastal Training test, only to be defeated.
The Artazon Gym appeared in PASV09, where it was the second Gym challenged by Scarlet, as Brassius had promised to tell her anything he knew about the treasures of ruin if she won. Scarlet ultimately won the battle without losing any Pokémon, but refused the offered Gym Badge, so Nemona took it for safekeeping, just like she had done with Scarlet's Gym Badge from Cortondo.
Petilil is Brassius's first known Pokémon. She was first used to battle Scarlet's Tarountula, but her attempt to put it to sleep was foiled by Tarountula's Insomnia. She was then taken out by a single Bug Bite.
Smoliv is Brassius's second known Pokémon. It was used to battle Scarlet's Tarountula. Despite using a Sunny Day-Weather Ball combination to deal super effective damage to Tarountula, it wasn't enough to defeat the String Ball Pokémon, who retaliated and defeated Smoliv.
Sudowoodo is Brassius's third known Pokémon. It is capable of Terastallizing into a Grass type. Scarlet sent out her Palafin to face it, but withdrew it immediately after Sudowoodo had Terastallized and sent out Armarouge instead, which proceeded to swiftly defeat Sudowoodo with a super effective Lava Plume. Sudowoodo survived the attack due to its Ability, but fell afterward due to the burn it received.
None of Sudowoodo's moves are known and its Ability is Sturdy.
