Main article: Ryuki/Quotes

In animation

Ryuki appeared in Aiming for the Top Floor! as the leader of the Kantonian Gym. He first had a battle with Kiawe, easily defeating his Marowak when it became distracted by Ryuki's music. Next, he battled Ash, but when Rowlet was losing to Ryuki's Zweilous, Meltan became infuriated and ate some of the decorations on Ryuki's suit in retaliation. Ryuki then changed the match into a Double Battle, with Ash using Rowlet and Meltan against Ryuki's Druddigon and Zweilous. Thanks to Rowlet learning Brave Bird, Ash was able to win the match. Ryuki then gave him a Badge bearing a picture of his own face as a proof of his victory.

Character

Ryuki considers himself a star, and his stage persona tends to take over the battlefield. He tends to shout into his microphone to ensure that he gets his way. He insists on being called "Leader", as he feels anything less disregards his individuality and undermines his authority.

Ryuki in Pokémon Adventures

Pokémon Adventures

Ryuki debuted in Shock!! Father in the Pendant!. He considers himself a battling superstar, so he traveled to Alola in hopes of fighting the powerful Ultra Beasts. He was hired by Faba, who agreed to help Ryuki in exchange for his services. Ryuki was sent to Mount Lanakila, where he found Moon lying unconscious in the snow after she returned to Alola via an Ultra Wormhole. He picked the girl up and took her to Aether Paradise, where Faba had her locked in a cell.

Moon was later freed by Gladion, who teamed up with her to stop Faba. Cornered, Faba tricked Ryuki into helping him by revealing Gladion's Silvally was created to defeat the Ultra Beasts. This subsequently prompted Ryuki to battle Gladion and Moon in order to defend his place in the spotlight. After losing his first Pokémon, Ryuki sent out two more, only for Gladion to stop him and call off the battle, revealing Faba was using it as a distraction so he could flee Aether Paradise. After learning that others were fighting the Ultra Beasts elsewhere in Alola, Ryuki ran off to join them.

Months later, Gladion and Dulse set off to rescue Faba, who had been dragged into Ultra Space by several Nihilego. Ryuki chose to accompany them, much to Gladion's annoyance.
