Discussion
edit- Comment I like the idea. It is a property that is needed a lot. But I would like to extend the use to Christian rites that are not sacraments, mainly in Protestant churches; Christian liturgical rite (Q20871782). For example: Christian marriage (Q1043387), confirmation (Q188613), ordination (Q7519600). (There are interesting cases: Johannes Bugenhagen (Q77260) led the marriage of Martin Luther (Q9554) and Katharina von Bora (Q77239) etc.) I don't know what the correct term in English would be: "rite conferred by"? In German, it would be Kasualie or Amtshandlung.--Geogast (talk) 23:48, 31 January 2021 (UTC)
- @Nomen ad hoc: If you are OK with Geogast's suggestion, I think this is probably suitable to be marked as "ready". JesseW (talk) 14:30, 20 March 2021 (UTC)
- IMHO, this is a very important property and we should go on with the proposal. Any more opinions? Notified participants of WikiProject Religions--Geogast 🤲 (talk) 14:18, 22 June 2021 (UTC)

- Support but agreed that the name should reflect a more general use. The term I've seen in English is "officiated by" but that may be only specific to some religious organizations? Religious terminology seems hard to generalize sometimes; the meaning is basically the person who performed a religious action and would be generally useful I agree. - @ArthurPSmith: I now think that conferred by (P1027) would suffice (but why not an alias "officiated by", indeed) to indicate "the person who performed a religious action". Nomen ad hoc (talk) 15:09, 26 June 2021 (UTC).
