Closing this, since there now is a maintained and well established tool for this: Locator-tool.
Sorry, wrong ticket.

I see the issues that thiemo mentions. On the other side: People who comment on a talk page without using the : for indention are most likely users who are new or not very familiar to the syntax, while users who use special cases where they would not like to have the extra linefeeds are more likely advanced users. The advanced users will quickly understand what went wrong and know how to fix it. Users less familiar might however be confused and feel helpless. So maybe it's worth to risk worsening the experience for advanced users in rare cases when we therefore can improve the experience of new users in more common cases.

Can't reproduce anymore – seems to work. Maybe I screwed up something last week.

I would suggest to add some kind of a threshold for the length under which the collapsing feature is disabled and the button not shown.

It looks fine now. The only thing that is still weird: sometimes the icon is black like the others and sometimes it's blue. Maybe some CSS rule on the wikis global.css?

I think closing this is fine.

In an short test I could not reproduce this anymore. (But might also be that I had different setup back then). I think the issue was, that some parts of the UI used absolute fontsize and others used relative sizes.

Found issue in a script: You may not edit the HTML of the page via Javascript, using JQuery instead works…

A usable prototype is available here: https://tools.wmflabs.org/blockyquery/
It still lacks some features, has some bug and must defnitely be improved in case of UX, but it demonstrates that it is possible. The code is available here: https://tools.wmflabs.org/blockyquery/ and can be improved.
Note: Neovim is available from the Debian stretch repos as package neovim.

I can share my knowledge and experience about Matrix/Riot! I just configured the wikidata-bridge to matrix a couple of days ago. Let's talk about that!

I think we thought about this already in the past and decided against it for some reason?

@thiemowmde feel free to close if you are sure enough that it's not about ZWNJ and Whitespace.
I'm not sure if it's caused by ZWNJ and Whitespace or if we lack the support for multiple versions matching to the same commons-parameter.

Maybe it would be an option to work line-wise not paragraph-wise on discussion pages?

@stjn Yes, we are aware of this and will probably increase the level of protection in the future.
For now we want to leave it like this since at the moment the config pages for all the Communites have to be created and updated often. Also the format of the configs is likely to change in the beta-phase.

Suggestions for alternative Names by User:George Ho:
- "Hide the improved version of the Advanced Search interface" (similar to other "Hide the improved version of..." options)
- "Revert back to old version of the Advanced Search interface"?

@WMDE-Fisch: Sorry for the delay, I added my draft of the text above. It's still quite easy to change the text at any time, isn't it?

Hi @Akhilam513, sorry for not being specific enough. This is not about the page-import (Special:Import) but about the file-import by the File-Importer-Extension currently being developed by Wikimedia Germany.

@TheDJ yes this issue still exists.
