The Royal Society has had an international outlook from its very beginning and has had a Foreign Secretary for over 200 years. Today science is inherently a global endeavour, and the Royal Society helps to develop partnerships between researchers across borders and brings together scientists and policy makers from around the world to exchange and develop knowledge. We work alongside other national academies and use the expertise of international scientists including Fellows and Members of the Society to advise decision makers on global issues.
