The enormous Bruticus (ブルーティカス Burūtikasu) is the result of Shockwave's surgical tinkering with his thralls, the Combaticons. While not the mad scientist's most potent or destructive creation, the combiner is certainly the most imposing. The big lug mostly sees use as Shockwave's valet, particularly as a method to render his cannon emplacement mode less... emplaced.

As part of his many backup plans, Shockwave took in the wild and insolent Combaticons and installed both more amdendable personalities and the ability to combine into Bruticus. After a succession of plans failed, the Decepticons were ordered to attack Metropolis in Shockwave's absence. The Combaticons in particular were assigned to attack the Autobots' spacetime travel facility, where they combined into Bruticus, who occupied the attention of the Autobots defending the facility outside, including Optimus Prime and Hot Rodimus. When Shockwave, collapsed inside the building, awoke from the damage he endured in another spacetime, he signaled his creation to punch through the building's walls and retrieve him. With Shockwave transformed into his beam cannon, Bruticus unleashed firepower onto the Autobots.

Once Astrotrain's contingent of Decepticons successfully recovered Starscream from prison, Shockwave took his leave and Hot Rodimus attempted to follow, but the loyal Bruticus held him back from his pursuit. Determined to take down the giant, Optimus Prime shot out Bruticus's visual receptors and Rodiumus swooped down with a slash from his sword, bisecting the combiner and ending his life. Bruticus is formed by combining the five Combaticons, which made up the second wave of the TakaraTomy Generations lineup and feature a number of changes from their western releases, such as rendering Vortex and Blast Off in game-accurate colors and giving everyone a coat of shiny metallic paint. The Combaticons' individual weapons can be combined into a weapon for Bruticus to wield via 5 mm post.
