When the Cybertron from the Functionist Universe threatened the primary universe, the crew of the Lost Light realized that they needed to use twelve Matrixes on the planet's twelve hot spots in order to destroy the Functionist Council and stop their onslaught. First Aid and Crankcase were sent to the Pious Pools, where they were met with resistance from the Functionists' forces.
