Meanwhile, back on Cybertron...

Contents

Synopsis

Nova Prime, leader of free Cybertron, discovers that a corrupted future version of himself named Nemesis Prime is somehow in the same time period. Along with Axer, Straxus, and Thunderwing, Nemesis Prime has been transported back to threaten Cybertron. Nova Prime teams up with Roadbuster and Topspin in an attempt to curb this threat from the future.

Meanwhile Galvatron watches the battle from a distant corner of time and space.

In the end, Nemesis Prime succeeds in his task, overcoming both Nova Prime and (somehow) Galvatron and claiming the oncoming darkness for his own.

Since this was a PVP event, players had no particular affiliation.

Notes

Oh yeah, this is an event, we just forgot to tell anybody until the second week of the event!
  • This was another player-versus-player event.
  • Touted as the "first Cel-Shaded episode" (though the art was more comic book than cel-shaded), Prime Evil is the second week of the four-week "Month of Primes" event.
  • Introduced this event were Chronogon medals, which could be earned by running up win steaks in the PvP. The previously-introduced transformation cogs became diamond medals.
  • For the first 20 or so hours of the event, the mechanism for selecting opponents was broken — while it would normally select other players with decks near the same power, instead it drew from the entire player pool, resulting in most players finding themselves up against starting decks. As a result, early birds were able to make huge advances in the event. After fixing the bug, Mobage sent out apology gifts in the form of transmetal, gold medals and credits, as well as increasing the number of cards a player could hold.
    • On top of that, there was an exploit that allowed some players to "cheat their way up the leaderboard".[1] Those ne'er-do-wells had their accounts suspended for a whole week.
  • We previously got a Nemesis Prime in "Nemesis Rising". The Nemesis Prime cards available in this event use the same bio as the first one, despite him being a future version of Nova Prime and not a creation of Doctor Arkeville.
  • Chronogon Hound's robot and vehicle card art are closely based on Hound's Universe toy, while his weapon art is based on an unlicensed third-party accessory.[2]
