A search and rescue team from Lac Duong District in Lam Dong Province saved two tourists who got lost while exploring Langbiang Mountain on Sunday, local police confirmed the same day.
The two tourists, T.T.T., 27, and M.M.A., 18, were reported missing on the mountain during their trip to Da Lat City, a popular destination in Lam Dong, located in Vietnam’s Central Highlands.
After being notified at 3:00 pm on Sunday, local police officers and rescuers carried out a search and rescue operation amid heavy rainfall and slippery terrain.
They managed to locate the duo, both hailing from Ho Chi Minh City, after a three-hour search in a dense foresed area.
The tourists were then escorted back to safety.
Authorities mentioned that similar incidents sometimes occur when tourists enter the forest during poor weather conditions without informing the staff at Langbiang’s entrance.
