In the early 1990s, the world was taken over by the American drama series, Twin Peaks. Although fans loved David Lynch’s creative genius in the show, the creator wound up breaking a lot of hearts when he temporarily left the show in the second season.
As the co-creator, director, and creative force behind the show, his unique vision was a vital component of the show’s surreal and mysterious appeal. Fans feared that without him, their beloved cult classic would lose its soul. But the most poignant response came from Sherilyn Fenn, the actress who portrayed Audrey Horne, one of the most iconic and beloved characters from the series.

A one armed man selling shoes, a lady with a log obsession, evil spirits called Bob who feed on pain and suffering, dwarves speaking backwards, a ton of doughnuts, plus a murder mystery with a killer reveal. It can only be one crazy series, can’t it? That’s right my fellow wonderful gore-hounds, we’re taking a psychedelic trip to the fictional Washington town of Twin Peaks. The original show ran from 1990 to 1991 and followed an investigation by FBI agent Dale Cooper, played to perfection by Kyle MacLachlan, into the murder of Sheryl Lee’s homecoming queen, Laura Palmer. The series didn’t end there though, no siree, writer / director David Lynch had grander plans for the residents of Twin Peaks.

I’m trying to decrease my usage of “good” and “bad” when discussing art. They are lazy shortcuts that distill creativity into the simplest qualitative assessments as if art is worth boiling down to a pure binary outlook. It’s why whenever any movie is widely labeled “good,” I can’t help but approach it with some increased skepticism. Conversely, “bad” movies always pique my interest, and I’m more likely to look deeper for their successful elements than what I find from the consensus.

A documentary series about Elizabeth Taylor is in the works at the BBC, with Kim Kardashian among the producers.
Elizabeth Taylor is undoubtedly one of the most iconic film stars of her era. By the mid 1960s, she was the highest paid film star in the world.
There have been copious books written and films made about the star too – Taylor has been portrayed by Helena Bonham Carter, Lindsay Lohan, Sherilyn Fenn and Louella Parsons among others; a biopic called A Special Relationship starring Rachel Weisz and written by Simon Beaufoy was announced in 2019, but there has been no news since then.
Now though, the BBC has commissioned a three part documentary, Elizabeth Taylor: Rebel Superstar, which will be executive produced by Kim Kardashian, Kari Lia and Hamish Fergusson.

The horror comedy series Shining Vale premiered on Starz back in March of 2022, then the second season reached the airwaves this past October. Unfortunately, there won’t be a season 3, as Variety reports that the show has been cancelled for the most common reason a show gets cancelled: it “did not find a large enough audience to continue.” But Starz is going further than just cancelling this show, as they’re also going to be scrubbing it from their archives. “Not only will the show be cut by the network, the first two seasons will be removed from the Starz streaming service at the end of the year.“
Created by Jeff Astrof and Sharon Horgan, the first season of Shining Vale followed a dysfunctional family that moves from the city to a small town into a house in which terrible atrocities have taken place. But no one seems to notice except for Patricia “Pat” Phelps,...

Starz has canceled Shining Vale after two seasons, Deadline has confirmed. Sources close to production revealed that the Courteney Cox- and Greg Kinnear-led series “did not find a large enough audience” to continue.
Both seasons also are set to be removed from the streamer’s library.
Sources said producer Warner. Bros. TV tried to sell the series elsewhere but did not succeed.
Season 1 of the series from creators Jeff Astrof and Sharon Horgan followed Pat (Cox) and Terry Phelps (Kinnear), a married couple who cash in their life savings and move from a cramped Brooklyn apartment to an old Victorian mansion in Connecticut, as a last-ditch effort to save their marriage after Pat’s torrid affair with the handyman. Their kids Gaynor and Jake are pissed, and as disconnected as teenagers can get. Pat is losing her grip on them, and Terry doesn’t see that Pat might...

After just two seasons, the Courteney Cox-starring horror series “Shining Vale” has been given the axe by Starz, and that’s not even the worst news about the show this afternoon.
Variety reports, “The Season 2 finale of the horror comedy, produced by Warner Bros. TV, aired on December 1. Not only will the show be cut by the network, the first two seasons will be removed from the streaming service at the end of the year.”
“Shining Vale” Season 2 premiered on the Starz streaming service on October 13, 2023, and Variety notes that the show didn’t find enough of an audience to justify a third season.

J.R. was waiting in line with maybe 200 fellow fans to spend a moment getting the autograph of – and perhaps taking a selfie with – Christina Ricci, the actress who made her debut in the “Addams Family” movies in the 1990s who is now an Emmy-nominated star on the Showtime series “Yellowjackets” as well as a regular on Netflix’s “Wednesday.” The setting on Saturday was the Hollywood Autograph Show at the Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel, a three-times-a-year movie and memorabilia event where fans can come to lay eyes on some old-time celebrity favorites, get their name in ink, pose for a selfie and maybe pick up a book or vintage photograph.
Eighty or so celebrities staked out tables to sign their name and pix for a fee. J.R. was one of those who got hooked on attending these shows a few years back and now never misses one.

Everyone loves fun car films. With Fast X spawning a spin-off and sequel and Gran Tusimo (out on VOD Tuesday) doing decent business at the box office, the genre isn’t going anywhere. We thought now would be a good time to check out some less-known (or underrated) entries into the genre.
Taxi
We’re going to cheat right off the start by counting this whole series and one entry on this list. The films here are action-comedy classics for fans of French movies and those who love a good car stunt. The first established the characters, but the second is possibly the best of the bunch. Only die-hard fans will want to bother from the third to the fourth to the fifth. However, those first two are worth seeking out what the French do with a modified Peugeot 406, the vacation town of Nice, and a cast that most will recognize from other movies.

Human remains recently discovered by hikers in the Mount Baldy wilderness outside Los Angeles were identified as those of British actor Julian Sands, who had been missing since January, authorities announced Tuesday.
On Saturday morning, civilian hikers contacted the Fontana Sheriff’s Station after they found the remains, which were then taken to the San Bernardino County Coroner for identification.
“The identification process for the body located on Mt. Baldy on June 24, 2023, has been completed and was positively identified as 65-year-old Julian Sands of North Hollywood,” the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department said in a statement. “The manner of death is still under investigation, pending further test results. We would like to extend our gratitude to all the volunteers that worked tirelessly to locate Mr. Sands.”
An avid outdoorsman, Sands was reported missing by his family Jan. 13 after he had gone hiking in the Baldy Bowl Trail area of the San Gabriel Mountains that day.

Twin Peaks is considered a cult classic TV show. Years after it went off the air, millions of people still watch the two original seasons, a spinoff movie, and a limited revival series. However, one proposed spinoff didn’t make the cut as a Twin Peaks series. But did end up becoming the hit movie Mulholland Drive.
Cult classic ‘Twin Peaks’ tells the story of the mysterious murder of Laura Palmer
Twin Peaks was created by Mark Frost and David Lynch and ran for two seasons on ABC. The show returned for a third season in 2017 and generated the prequel movie Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me.

A Filipino man named James is claiming to be Johnny Depp’s long-lost son in a now-viral TikTok that has gained millions of views. According to the video, the realization that Depp may be his father came after years’ worth of unanswered questions about his biological father and abuse from his mother who would respond to his questions with “violence.”
James’ innovative, albeit very public, solution was to use TikTok as a platform to go through the evidence he has accumulated over the years.
According to a video posted to his account @Tanlife999, James first began thinking Depp may be his father after he found a picture of him alongside an Asian woman, whom he believes to be his mother, on the set of Platoon (1986), which was filmed in the Philippines.

Authorities are carrying out an extensive search-and-rescue mission for the 65-year-old actor, though extreme weather conditions had caused delays and interruptions. His adult son, Henry, is assisting in the search with an experienced climber.
The search has entered its 11th day, with Sands’ family issuing a statement on Monday 23 January thanking authorities for their “heroic” efforts.
“His family are frantic with worry,” a close friend told The Independent.

The further we get away from the premiere of its pilot, the harder it is to understand how David Lynch and Mark Frost's "Twin Peaks" briefly seized the imaginations of American television viewers. On April 8, 1990, the 90-minute pilot scored what would be the highest single movie rating of the 1989-90 network season. Throughout that month, the show found its way onto the cover of just about every major mainstream magazine, regardless of the periodical's emphasis. People who would've run screaming from Lynch's "Blue Velvet" were enthralled by the series' central "Who Killed Laura Palmer" mystery. They fell in love with Kyle MacLachlan's charmingly idiosyncratic FBI Agent Dale Cooper and Sherilyn Fenn's high school hellion Audrey Horne. They threw viewing parties with coffee, donuts and pie.

The David Lynch and Mark Frost series Twin Peaks made its premiere on ABC in 1990 and ran for two seasons before being cancelled. It was followed by the feature film Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me, and a couple decades later the series was revived for a third season on Showtime, called Twin Peaks: The Return. While we anxiously wait to see if Lynch and Frost are going to bring us any more stories set in the world of Twin Peaks, the Spooky Empire convention in Orlando, Florida gathered several of the show’s cast members together for a reunion that stirred up all the feels.

Married writing duo Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson created one of the buzziest series of the 2021–22 season with “Yellowjackets,” in which we have yet to see exactly how “Lord of the Flies” a girls’ soccer team goes after their plane crashes in the wilderness.
The argument for the stunning savagery of girls — and their traumatized adult counterparts — has been made frighteningly well on the series, which is nominated for seven Emmys, including Best Drama, Best Writing and acting nods for Melanie Lynskey and Christina Ricci.

Jeff Astrof, co-creator, executive producer and showrunner, said: “Sharon and I are thrilled to be able to tell the next eight chapters of the Phelps’ story– especially after the way we ended season one. Starz has renewed “Shining Vale” for Season 2.
The second season of the horror comedy will consist of eight episodes. The series stars Courtney Cox, Greg Kinnear, Mira Sorvino, Gus Birney, Merrin Dungey, and Dylan Gage. Season 1 also featured Judith Light and Sherilyn Fenn.

In Season 1, Pat (Cox) and Terry Phelps (Kinnear) cash in their life savings and move from a cramped Brooklyn apartment to an old Victorian mansion in Connecticut, as a last-ditch effort to save their marriage after Pat’s torrid affair with the handyman. Gaynor (Birney) and Jake (Gage) are pissed, and as disconnected as teenagers can get. Terry tries to rally the family, but the pushback is relentless.
