It has been a running joke in the Star Wars fandom that nobody hates the franchise more than Han Solo himself, Harrison Ford. The actor has jokingly (hopefully) disregarded any question about the lore and seemed to be genuinely happy that Solo was killed in Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens.
While it was speculated that he hates it because it was a multi-billion dollar franchise, Ford’s recent comments about joining the MCU have led fans to believe that he just hates Star Wars and not big franchises in general. However, Ford’s hate for Star Wars may just be an exaggerated gag that has been running for ages.

Shrinking is one of the best comedies on TV. The stellar cast of the Apple TV+ paid us a visit in our New York Comic Con 2024 studio to talk all things Season 2, currently airing new episodes on Wednesdays on the streamer. In the video interview above, we talk infusing even more drama into the tragicomedy series in the second season, the cast shares what Harrison Ford is really like on set (don’t let his interviews fool you!), making each other laugh during filming, and more. Shrinking stars Jason Segel as grieving therapist Jimmy, who goes to bold, ethically questionable lengths to treat his patients as he also processes his grief after the unexpected death of his wife, Tia (Lilan Bowden). His coworkers, Paul (Ford) and Gaby (Jessica Williams), are part of his found family, as are best friend Brian (Michael Urie), married neighbors Liz (Christa Miller) and Derek (Ted McGinley...

Marvel Studios last Wednesday conjured the final two episodes of Agatha All Along on Disney+, delivering one of the superhero studio’s most satisfying series yet. Not knowing what to expect, the WandaVision spinoff, starring Kathryn Hahn as the witch Agatha Harkness, presented fans with a spooky series that pushes the boundaries of any Marvel-related content. While Agatha’s journey along the Witch’s Road is filled with twists, tragic romance, and self-discovery, it almost featured another fan-favorite character, Hulkling, but Marvel said no.
According to Agatha All Along showrunner Jac Schaeffer, there were early talks about Billy’s boyfriend Eddie (Miles Gutierrez-Riley) being named Teddy, as in Teddy Altman, aka Hulkling. While fans of the green-skinned Young Avenger would have popped for the character’s inclusion, Marvel shut the idea down for unclear reasons. I could speculate why Hulkling was left out of the show, but Jac Schaeffer is...

In 1990 the sports world’s biggest star, Michael Jordan, was asked to endorse Harvey Gantt, a Black candidate challenging the incumbent North Carolina senator, noted racist Jesse Helms. As he confirmed in the 2020 docuseries “The Last Dance,” Jordan chose not to engage, famously telling teammates, “Republicans buy sneakers, too.”
Jordan might have gotten away with such neutrality then, but in the current political climate, it’s increasingly difficult for celebrities to stay on the sidelines.
Part of that has to do with social media, which wasn’t a concern when Jordan was winning championships for the Chicago Bulls. Even more, though, remaining silent today can easily be spun into tacitly backing one side or the other of a political divide that has become so toxic and polarized many perceived allies – and fans – won’t readily accept silence as an option.

The stars are doing one final push for Kamala Harris.
Oprah Winfrey, Lady Gaga, DJ Cassidy, Fat Joe, Ricky Martin and The Roots are among an A-list lineup for Harris’ Philadelphia concert and rally set for Monday night, the eve of 2024 Election Day.
Freeway, Just Blaze, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Jazmine Sullivan and Adam Blackstone have also been tapped to mobilize voters for a final get-out-the-vote event, which will kick of 5 p.m. local time and go until 9 p.m. DJ Jazzy Jeff, Fat Joe and Winfrey are speakers.
The Philadelphia event will take place at the bottom of the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s steps along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. One thing you can count on Ridley Scott for is an honest opinion. The director is famously candid in his interviews, previously blaming the box office for his film "The Last Duel" on the entire millennial generation and talking openly about how he thinks the long-gestating "Alien" TV series won't be as good as his movies.
On that last point, the director might well be onto something, especially if we're talking about his original 1979 masterpiece "Alien." The film that kick-started the franchise really stands on its own as a seminal slow burn space horror, showcasing a mastery of mood and atmosphere that, regardless of Scott's other work, will always serve as a testament to the man's greatness. No matter how good the TV show is, it will indeed never be able to supersede something so monumental.
Surprisingly, Scott is actually attached to that TV project as an executive producer, proving...

The second-to-last movie in Marvel’s Phase Five, Captain America: Brave New World, is scheduled to premiere on February 14, 2025. Fans are excited about the film, which will feature Anthony Mackie as the new Captain America, taking over from Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers—though there will be some surprises.
In addition to Mackie, several important characters will be in the movie. Harrison Ford is taking over the role of Thaddeus Ross from the late William Hurt, Tim Blake Nelson is coming back as The Leader, and Giancarlo Esposito will make his first appearance in the MCU as the villain Sidewinder.
Esposito has called his villain “complex” and is glad that Sidewinder’s backstory will be revealed as the story progresses. Unlike some of the clever and manipulative characters he has played in the past, Sidewinder is more physical and depends on his strength and skills.

Here at ScreenAnarchy, and indeed in this column, we have a few choice distributors whose works keep popping up. Criterion, Anime Limited, Severin, Arrow, Second Sight, Curzon and several crazy Germans and French ones manage to regularly raise our eyebrows. But there is also StudioCanal, and while they don't always go crazy with their releases, when they Do, it's good enough to keep an eye on them. Take their recent 4K-uhd / Blu-ray Limited Edition combo release of Francis Ford Coppola's The Conversation, a surveillance thriller from 1974 starring Gene Hackman and featuring supporting roles for Frederick Forrest and a very young Harrison Ford. It's got bells and whistles, a ton of on-disc extras, and it is an edition...

With three days until the presidential election, Harrison Ford is getting out the vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.
On Saturday, the Academy Award nominee announced his endorsement for the Democratic nominee and her running mate in two heartfelt video statements explaining why others should vote for the vice president as well.
“I’m Harrison Ford, doing something I never thought I’d do: telling people I’ve never met who I’m voting for and why I think they might do the same,” he said in a video for Rolling Stone. “This election, I’m casting my ballot for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. Do I agree with every one of their policies? Of course not. Do I think they’re perfect? Come on, for crying out loud, they’re people just like you and me.
“But these two people believe in the rule of law. They believe in science.

The old axiom states that the show must go on, and if you've ever participated in even a school play, you probably know why it applies. When you're bopping around hastily crafted sets (or sturdily built backdrops), it's not uncommon to get a splinter or two. You might sustain a mild head injury by walking straight into a low-hanging metal girder or sprain your ankle by tripping up over a cable protector where someone forgot to place glow tape. (These aren't oddly specific because they happened to me -- so far as you know.) These are unfortunate occurrences, but unless you're fancy enough to have an understudy, you've got to suck it up and show up for the next performance.
Obviously, there are certain extreme maladies that can shut you down for a while. Harrison Ford was out of commission...

He explained that for many people, this will be the first time they’ve ever voted for someone who doesn’t have an “R” for Republican next to the names listed because “they know this really matters.”

When it comes to iconic franchises from the 1980s, few can rival Star Wars and Indiana Jones. While Star Wars technically began in the 1970s, its popularity surged during the ’80s alongside Indiana Jones, which debuted in 1981. Despite their seemingly different worlds, both franchises captivated global audiences and continue to thrive.
One obvious link between the two is Harrison Ford, who starred in both. But there’s another, deeper connection: the friendship between Star Wars creator George Lucas and Indiana Jones director Steven Spielberg. Lucas not only pitched the idea of Indiana Jones to Spielberg but collaborated closely on both projects, creating a shared creative vision between the franchises.
Now, a fascinating theory suggests an even closer relationship: that Star Wars and Indiana Jones might actually exist in the same universe.

Tom Cruise is looking to make a sequel to another of his action classics, and it’s not one that you’d expect.
The actor is talking to Paramount about a follow-up to his 1990 NASCAR racing film Days of Thunder.
On its surface, the idea seems rather bold. Thunder wasn’t considered a box office hit upon its release (making $157 million globally with a production budget of $60 million), and the film received mixed-to-negative reviews from critics. But having revived and modernized 1986’s Top Gun with 2022’s blockbuster Top Gun: Maverick, the actor believes he can work similar magic with his racing drama (which, like the original Top Gun, was a Paramount film produced by Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Tony Scott). A Thunder revival has been floated before — Paramount once pitched a reboot of the title as a TV show for Paramount+, an idea that Cruise nixed.

In the streaming landscape, it’s been virtually impossible to get an apples-to-apples read on the relative popularity of TV shows and movies.
Netflix, of course, releases its own rankings based on total views, while Nielsen’s measures viewership in the U.S. across multiple streamers. But because of Netflix’s sheer size — it counted more than 282 million subscribers as of the end of Q3 — it tends to dominate the viewership figures tallied by Nielsen.
So what if streaming viewership were weighted based on the size of each platform? That’s the idea behind a new ranking developed by consulting company Owl & Co. For the month of October (Sept. 27-Oct. 24), the firm ranked original series based on Luminate’s Streaming Viewership data, which covers original and library shows and movies in the U.S. and is based on a panel of 2.5 million homes. (Disclosure: Variety and Luminate are both owned by Pmc.

James Earl Jones Was Paid $7,500 For Original Star Wars Trilogy ( Photo Credit – Wikimedia )
In a galaxy far, far away, James Earl Jones, who gave voice to one of cinema’s most fearsome villains, Darth Vader, was paid a surprisingly small fee: $7,000. Yes, for just a single day of voice work on Star Wars, the actor received what seemed decent at the time—though only a fraction of what his co-stars earned.
The backstory? George Lucas had a vision. He needed a voice as iconic as the character—Vader, towering, masked, and carrying a voice that could shiver anyone to their core. British actor David Prowse brought the physicality, but Lucas wanted that deep, authoritative tone. Lucas even considered Orson Welles for the part, but he was just too recognizable. Then, Jones’s agent got a call. The rest is history.

Marvel Star Sebastian Stan Didn’t Read the Thunderbolts Script When He Was Offered The Role—Here’s What He Revealed! (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Buckle up, Marvel fans! Sebastian Stan dropped a significant bombshell that’ll sweep you off your feet. The Winter Soldier himself spilled the tea that he hadn’t even skimmed the script for Thunderbolts before signing on!
Since its splashy announcement at San Diego Comic-Con last year, Thunderbolts has had fans splitting up louder than a beehive in summer. The film promises a mash-up of Marvel’s most chaotic characters, and while everyone else is hyping it up, Stan’s just chilling, waiting for his script to arrive. During a chat about his other flick, Sharper, Stan told Collider’s Steve Weintraub, “I haven’t read the script. I still have not been sent it. It’s pretty much on par with how it usually goes.

Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan is being adapted into another feature film, this time as a continuation of the Prime Video series. Oh, and John Krasinski’s back as Jack.
Actor turned filmmaker John Krasinski is, according to a new report, set to reprise the role of Jack Ryan for a feature film at Prime Video. It’s a part he first began to play for the streaming platform in 2018, with the thriller series being one of the most successful attempts to adapt Tom Clancy’s novels.
Despite Krasinski’s growing reputation as a filmmaker (see A Quiet Place and If), Prime Video has, Deadline says, managed to lure him back for a movie continuation of that earlier series.

Aging is often treated like a dirty secret these days, with many going to great lengths to hide signs of time, such as wrinkles and blemishes. This trend has become so common that the idea of “de-aging” actors for films has turned into a sort of Hollywood trick. However, the results can be hit or miss.

Todd Howard always wanted to create an Indiana Jones game. In 2009, the prolific director of titles like Fallout 3 came close, pitching an Indiana Jones game to LucasArts, the video game subsidiary arm of Lucasfilm. However, the collaboration didn’t end up happening. At the time, Howard and the developers at Bethesda Game Studios were riding high on the critical and commercial successes of 2002’s The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and 2006’s The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, but even so, Indy remained out of reach for the team.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe certainly doesn't shy away from star-power. It's the biggest movie franchise in the world, so why would it? After all, it enhanced the careers of Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, and Mark Ruffalo, while launching the careers of Tom Hiddleston and Chris Hemsworth.
It's also featured established cinematic titans like Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Redford, Michael Keaton, and Ben Kingsley, and more. In recent years, Angelina Jolie and Christian Bale have even joined the fray, showcasing that the franchise is still capable of drawing big names even with the conclusion of its record-breaking Infinity Saga. If you need more proof of that, look no further than next year's Captain America: Brave New World, which will see Harrison Ford make his MCU debut, stepping into the role of President Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross after the death of the late, great William Hurt.

Han Solo is considered one of the most well known movie characters of all time. Like any part of Star Wars, multiple people were considered for the role. Thanks to a new memoir, someone other than Harrison Ford was considered for the role and turned it down thanks to his own personal success.
Via Entertainment Weekly, Al Pacino revealed in his new memoir Sonny Boy that the role of Han Solo in A New Hope was offered to him. His star was rising fast, coming off the smash hit 1972 epic film The Godfather. He recalls in the book having a conversation with his acting coach, Charlie Laughton, who was a prominent figure in Pacino's life. He wrote, "They offered me the role of Han Solo in Star Wars." Wendie Malick is one of TV’s most consistent stars. Her decades of work include shows like Frasier, Hot in Cleveland, Just Shoot Me, Young Sheldon, and more, and she’s worked with her fair share of fellow TV legends like Betty White. Harrison Ford remains one of our biggest movie stars, and Shrinking marked his first foray into television. Now, these two industry veterans play love interests on Shrinking, a show that deftly handles multigenerational stories. And their onscreen romance is a rare narrative treat that Malick tells TV Insider is a “gift” to portray. The Apple TV+ comedy, currently in its second season, stars Jason Segel as a grieving therapist, Jimmy, who resorts to bold methods with his patients as he tries to keep himself out of a deep depression caused by the tragic death of his wife. Following Disney CEO Bob Chapek's ousting from the studio, Bob Iger returned to his executive role and attempted to course-correct the company's film, streaming, and theme park offerings.
In the case of Marvel Studios, it was time to get back to quality over quantity. Despite that, 2025 will still see the release of 10 big and small screen titles from Marvel Studios, Marvel Television, and Marvel Animation as we race towards the end of the Multiverse Saga.
One of the reasons for this jam-packed year is 2023's Hollywood strikes, though some of these movies and TV shows have seemingly sat on the shelf for at least the past couple of years. Regardless, in the wake of a leak revealing the planned premiere windows for four upcoming series, we're breaking down everything Marvel that's heading our way in 2025.

Hollywood has witnessed many an iconic pairing on the silver screen, from Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart to more recent ones like Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone. But out of all these iconic pairs, one iconic couple keeps getting cast together and has worked in four movies together: Jane Fonda and Robert Redford.

The celebrated pairing of yesteryears, their romantic pairing is one of cinema’s most beloved, known for their undeniable chemistry. While Fonda certainly enjoyed working with the ever-so-dashing Redford, as per her revelation, he did not seem to have an equally good time with her or any other co-star as a matter of fact.

Could you imagine someone other than Mark Harmon playing Leroy Jethro Gibbs on the NCIS cast?
No, we aren’t talking about the Young Gibbs we have seen in flashbacks and on NCIS: Origins. We are talking about someone else nabbing the role on NCIS before Harmon got it.
Harmon starred as Gibbs on NCIS from 2003 until 2021. He left the show early in Season 19, and Gibbs was retired to Alaska.
Harmon also appears on NCIS: Origins, serving as the narrator and appearing in scenes where Gibbs writes a memorial about his exploits.
Actor Austin Stowell now plays the Young Gibbs on NCIS: Origin, taking the mantle from Sean Harmon, who had played Young Gibbs in NCIS flashbacks.
NCIS fans continue hoping that Gibbs (played by Harmon) will have a reason to resurface on the primary show in the future.
Who else could have played Gibbs on NCIS?
A fun report...

The snake pit on Indiana Jones was full of real snakes (Photo Credit – Amazon Prime Video)
When you think of iconic movie moments, the snake pit scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark likely slithers to mind. But did you know that the filmmakers used hundreds of real snakes? Ahan! Director Steven Spielberg took a wild approach, relying on the real deal instead of CGI. Talk about a terrifying set!
Harrison Ford vs. the Snakes
The tension on set? Off the charts! For Harrison Ford, facing Indy’s legendary fear of snakes became a real challenge. As John Rhys-Davies (Sallah) quipped, Spielberg was “making it up as he goes along!” The script was packed with action, and dialogue often sprang from improvisation. In a particularly famous moment, Ford ad-libbed a scene where he shot a swordsman in the bustling Cairo marketplace. But nothing prepared him for the Well of Souls.

Some new promotional artwork for Captain America: Brave New World has been shared online, giving us another look at the new costumes Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) and Joaquin Torres (Danny Ramirez) will don in the Marvel Studios movie as the Sentinel of Liberty and the new Falcon.
In addition, we have brief character descriptions for Wilson, Torres and Red Hulk (Harrison Ford). The latter confirms that Samuel Sterns, aka The Leader (Tim Blake Nelson) will be responsible for President Ross' transformation, and also reveals that the rampaging beast will retain his power of heat generation from the comics.
"After carrying the mantle of Captain America for a few years, Sam Wilson must use his intelligence and make new allies to stop a force unlike any he's seen before"

Captain America: Brave New World is the next movie heading our way from Marvel Studios and we expect the marketing campaign to ramp up in a big way as 2024 nears its end.
Today, we have a first look at some awesome new Marvel Legends action figures from Hasbro.
As you can see, they put the spotlight on Captain America, the McU's new Falcon, Joaquin Torres, and Harrison Ford's Red Hulk. Sam Wilson's new helmet is very cool, while that Falcon design arguably feels more in line with the comics than even what we saw Sam wear.
As for President "Thunderbolt" Ross' imposing villain, he looks like...well, a red Hulk. Marvel Studios has done the comic books justice with this design and we're hoping to also see his same fiery powers from those.

Monster, by Naoki Urasawa, is certainly a landmark in the history of Seinen anime. One can argue there’s nothing else that has managed to surpass its intricate storytelling and psychological depth yet. Set against the dark backdrop of post-wwii Germany, the very well-entwined and torn themes of trauma, and horror make it a must-watch.

"Yellowstone" and "Succession" aren't really birds of a feather, but it's easy to see why folks are inclined to compare them all the same. On some level, both shows are familial dramas that center on a King Lear-esque patriarch whose children vie for control of their inheritance -- the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch, in the case of Taylor Sheridan's mega-popular neo-Western drama -- while also warding off the vultures circling from the outside. Personally, I could even picture a crossover where Connor Roy from "Succession," after years of hanging out on his own swanky "ranch" in New Mexico, tries to snatch up the Duttons' land in the hopes of fortifying his salt of the earth public image for his next sure-to-fail presidential run. (You know the Conheads would totally eat that nonsense up.)
Both series likewise begin with the line of inheritance being unexpectedly disrupted. In the case of "Yellowstone,...

Glen Powell is aptly one of the most sought-after actors in Hollywood today. While his debut came way back in Spy Kids in 2003, the 35-year-old has seen multiple successful roles come his way in the last few years. Now looking forward to the release of Twisters, Powell has appeared in movies such as Anyone But You and Top Gun: Maverick, and generally finds himself in high demand.
However, that did not seem true to the actor when during his years of struggle. Powell went to his fair share of failed auditions but has never been the kind of person who would take things negatively. The actor has been utterly professional right from the start, and spent years getting rejected for a plethora of major roles.
