A sixth instalment of the Ice Age franchise – we’ll call it Ice Age 6 – is in development, with all the original cast returning! Sing hosannas.

Scrat the squirrel scrambling to cling on to his cherished acorn in the Ice Age films is one of the funniest running cinematic gags of the early 2000s. The sheer number of imaginative ways the writers and animators came up with to deny Scrat his prize was extremely impressive, with the set pieces gradually getting bigger in scale. They became a highlight of each film.

According to Deadline, a sixth Ice Age film is in development at Disney and 20th Century Animation.

The film seems to be moving forward at quite a pace too, with many of the original cast – Romano, Leguizamo, Latifah, Leary and Pegg – already signed on. (Read on to discover what all their first names are.)

There’s currently no writer or director attached.

The animated film franchise is returning with a new sequel, according to castmembers Ray Romano, Queen Latifah and John Leguizamo, who announced the news on Friday. The actors, who all lent their voices to previous films in the franchise, revealed that Ice Age 6 is in the works from Disney, in a video shown at D23 Brazil.

In the clip, which was shared on Disney’s social media accounts, Romano is shown shivering in winter clothes and a blanket as he says “Ray Romano here with some big news! Wow, it’s cold in here. Did the AC break or something?”

The video cuts to Latifah, who calls Romano and says, “Hey Ray, ready to give the big announcement? I see you got my gift. I thought it would be fun,” as snow begins to fall on the soundstage. Romano then reveals that “Ice Age 6 is coming to theaters.

It’s been nearly a decade since the last Ice Age movie, but Manny, Diego, Ellie, Sid, Scrat, and Baby Scrat are coming back for more. It was announced at D23 Brazil that Ice Age 6 is officially in production. Will Scrat finally get his acorn?

The audience at D23 Brazil was treated to a short video announcing Ice Age 6, with cast members Ray Romano, Queen Latifah, John Leguizamo, Denis Leary, and Simon Pegg returning for the sequel. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but fans of the franchise will doubtlessly be thrilled at its return.

Ice Age was Blue Sky Studios’ first movie. It was cheap to...

When Disney+ launched, it quickly became the norm for movies to premiere on the service. Made specifically for streaming, these titles ranged from original tales to remakes of Disney Animation classics like Lady and the Tramp and Pinocchio.

A sixth Ice Age is officially in the works!

On Friday (November 8), Disney revealed that they were developing a new movie in the franchise, which kicked off in 2002. The fifth movie – Ice Age: Collision Course – premiered in 2016.

Now, the series is being reinvigorated, and many stars are set to reprise their roles.

According to reporting by Deadline, Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Queen Latifah, Denis Leary and Simon Pegg are all back for the new movie, which was revealed during D23 Brazil.

A timeline for release has not been revealed yet, and it is not clear if the project will premiere in theaters on on Disney+. However, it “is currently being made.”

There were various short pics and series starring a woolly mammoth, sloth, saber-toothed tiger and other pre-historic animals. There was also the 2022 spinoff The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild.

This Ice Age is the first pic in the franchise since Disney bought Blue Sky.

What happens when three very different families discover they all want the same house? That's the premise of the upcoming Netflix dark comedy series No Good Deed from Dead to Me creator Liz Feldman releasing on Netflix on Dec. 12, 2024.

When a beautiful, 1920s Spanish-style villa goes on sale in Los Feliz, several different families find themselves competing to purchase the home. But even as the characters believe they've found their dream house, it soon becomes apparent that everyone is hiding something and this competition has a way of bringing those secrets to the forefront.

Will Ferrell and Jessica Elbaum executive produce the series for Gloria Sanchez Productions along with Christie Smith and Silver Tree. Tree also directed the pilot and additional episodes of the series. Filming for the eight-episode comedy reportedly got underway in October 2023 in Scotland.

If you thought the actual real estate market was intense, just wait until you see how “Dead to Me” creator Liz Feldman ratchets up the anxiety in her latest Netflix series, “No Good Deed.”

Produced by Will Ferrell’s production shingle, Gloria Sanchez Productions, the upcoming half-hour mystery comedy features an ensemble cast led by Lisa Kudrow, Ray Romano, Denis Leary, Abbi Jacobson, Poppy Liu, O-t Fagbenle, Teyonah Parris, Luke Wilson, and Feldman’s previous collaborator, Linda Cardellini.

Netflix will drop all eight episodes of the show on December 12.

The official synopsis read: “When Lydia (Kudrow) and Paul (Romano) decide to move on from their empty nest to forge a new life, they list their gorgeous 1920s Spanish-style villa located in one the most desirable neighborhoods in Los Angeles — and the real estate frenzy begins. Multiple families all race to buy what they believe to be their dream house, convinced...

The details remain unclear, but one thing is certain: Lisa Kudrow is up to no good in No Good Deed.

On Monday, Netflix announced that the dark comedy from Dead to Me creator Liz Feldman will premiere on Thursday, Dec. 12. And to celebrate the good news, the streamer released the first teaser for the star-studded series. (Watch above.)
