George Rr Martin, the author behind the famous A Song of Ice and Fire saga, has often talked about the differences between the show and the books. With Game of Thrones being an adaptation of his novels, the show deviated significantly from the books.

Some deviations were reasonable since they had to end the show at some point. However, some storylines were changed completely. Rr Martin touched upon one particular storyline from the show that he felt his character would never do in the books.

It’s Halloween and the highest-selling comics author of the decade, including the biggest horror title in the business, is going to stay in his Brooklyn apartment and watch some movies.
Oh, sure, there may be some friends over, but James Tynion IV is trying to keep it low-key, with 1980s flicks The Monster Squad, Return of the Living Dead, and Re-Animator on the home marquee. The author is still recovering from New York Comic-Con, where he and his eight-person company, Tiny Onion, which is backed by Lyrical Media, had a major presence. He is the rare comic author that has books across all the major publishers save Marvel, almost all creator-owned. There’s also a Substack newsletter. And a fledgling media division that seeks to catapult those books into various mediums.
Tynion made his name writing Batman for DC, striking out on his own while the proverbial iron was hot.

On paper, everything about Laika Studios’ initial theatrical release of Coraline feels a bit like a fever dream: a stop-motion animated horror film geared towards children based on Neil Gaiman’s even darker namesake novella, released in early February during the tail-end of The Great Recession, whose lead talent included Dakota Fanning and Teri Hatcher. By the time it was released in 2009, films like The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) and The Corpse Bride (2005) had helped pave the way for stop-motion in the mainstream. But for a little-known studio like Laika (Coraline was one of Laika’s first projects), banking on the success of such a niche concept felt quite ambitious. Sure, Laika had Nightmare alumni Henry Selick take the helm on the film, but it seemed like there was a lot stacked against it: the Recession had folks frugal about spending, social media was still way in its infancy to be effectively leveraged for marketing,...

It was 2020 when George Rr Martin wrote in his blog that if his upcoming book The Winds of Winter hadn’t finished in a year, fans were allowed to lock him in his home until completion. Well, look who’s still writing in 2024? (Us and Martin both).

It's good news and bad news for fans of Good Omens as the show is coming back for season 3. Only it's a very shocking low episode count! Way less than you'd think. We've known for a while that the show was returning, but there have been little updates for months.
The third season hit a roadblock with the 2023 Hollywood strikes. And then, things got worse in the fall when accusations came out over Neil Gaiman, author of the novel the series is based on and writer on the show, being rough with women. While he has acknowledged being with those women, the author claims it was consensual. Gaiman offered to step away from the show in September of 2023.
Despite the delays and controversy surrounding Gaiman, Good Omens season 3 is happening, and production will begin next year. However, instead of a regular season to wrap up the story, it's going to only be one,...

Supernatural is one of the longest-running fantasy shows in the history of television, lasting fifteen seasons before eventually bowing out in 2020. However, the fan excitement and love for the series shows no signs of diminishing even after all these years. As a result, a reboot of the show feels inevitable and creator Eric Kripke seems to agree.
A Supernatural reboot could be on the cards (Credit: Warner Bros).
During an interview, Kripke opened up about the possibility of potentially returning to the series he developed for a prospective reboot of the brand. While Kripke agreed that the brand had a solid chance of getting a reboot, he also hinted that a new incarnation might not require lead stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles. Here is what Eric Kripke had to say about a Supernatural reboot.

One of the most adored writers of our time, Neil Gaiman is renowned for his dark and inventive stories seen in comic books, novels, and film adaptations. Alan Moore’s Swamp Things inspired him to begin his career as a journalist in the 1980s before starting to write for DC Comics. It was while working for DC Comics, that he created the ground-breaking series The Sandman.

The s-xual assault allegations against Neil Gaiman have proven to be nothing but bad omens for his show. A few months ago, it was revealed that the creator of Good Omens was being accused by two women of s-xual assault against them. Just a month later, two more women accused the author of the same. All allegations have been denied by Neil Gaiman, up till now.

David Tennant and Michael Sheen will return for a final, feature length episode of Good Omens.
The television adaptation of Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett’s fantasy series Good Omens has been hugely successful over the last few years, not least due to the chemistry and charisma of leading duo David Tennant and Michael Sheen. The second series, which debuted in August 2023, was reported to be the number one show on Amazon Prime worldwide, and the first season was hardly struggling for acclaim, either.
The show had been commissioned for a third series before serious abuse allegations about Neil Gaiman (who wrote the adaptation) were made public. Gaiman has strongly denied those allegations.
Production on several of Gaiman’s projects, including Netflix’s Dead Boy Detectives, was halted, although it seems Netflix is still pressing ahead with the second series of The Sandman. You can read about the allegations here.

Neil Gaiman is (mostly) exiting “Good Omens” amid some bad press.
The series creator, showrunner, executive producer, and writer has stepped aside from the show’s third season, which paused its pre-production amid assault allegations against Gaiman, according to Deadline.
Prime Video today has announced that “Good Omens” will return for a feature-length series finale that will be produced without Gaiman’s involvement — though he did help write it.
“While Gaiman has contributed to the writing of the ‘Good Omens’ series finale, he will not be working on the production,” the official press statement reads.
“Good Omens” stars Michael Sheen as an angel and David Tennant as a demon Crowley. Frances McDormand, Jon Hamm, and Miranda Richardson co-star. The series is adapted from Gaiman’s novel “Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch,” co-written with Terry Pratchett. If you're a fan of Prime Video's Good Omens and have been eagerly awaiting more odd-couple bickering between Michael Sheen's angel Aziraphale and David Tennant's demon Crowley, then we've got some good news, some bad news, and some ongoing troubling news for you. The good news is, per Deadline's reporting, a 90-minute follow-up to that emotional Season 2 finale is heading our way at long last, with shooting due to begin in Scotland early next year The bad news then is that said hour-and-a-half episode is coming instead of rather than in addition to the third and final season of the show that was announced last December.
The cause for the shake-up to Good Omens' divine plans isn't a reflection of the show's popularity or critical reception — by all means it continues to be one of the better reviewed and beloved adaptations of Terry Pratchett's fantasy work. Rather...

Good Omens will return for season 3, but it'll be quite a bit different than what was originally planned. TV Line reports that they've learned from inside sources that the third season of Prime Video's hit fantasy show is going through a bit of a restructure. Instead of being multiple episodes long like the previous two seasons, Good Omens' third and final outing will only consist of one 90-minute episode. In other words, the show is going out with a TV movie.
This almost certainly comes about as a result of the ongoing sexual assault allegations against author Neil Gaiman, who co-authored the original Good Omens novel with beloved Discworld creator Terry Pratchett and was set to serve as the sole showrunner for the television show's final season. Back in early September, Prime Video paused work on Good Omens season 3 over these allegations, with Gaiman offering to step away from the...

There’s an update about the final season of Prime Video’s Good Omens after the show was renewed for a third season last year.
If you don’t know, showrunner Neil Gaiman faced allegations earlier this year of sexual assault. A 23-year-old woman alleged he sexually assaulted her, and he responded claiming their three-week long relationship was consensual.
He’s faced more allegations since then, and “denies any unlawful behaviour.”
Now, news about his show has been revealed.

Good Omens will get a proper ending, but it will be with a shorter final season than expected. The Prime Video series, which was originally going to be ending with a third and final season, will be wrapping up with one 90-minute episode. Neil Gaiman, who co-wrote the book on which it’s based with Terry Pratchett, will not be working on production following allegations of sexual assault against him. He has contributed to the writing of the series finale. Production on the episode is expected to begin in early 2025 in Scotland. It will “bring to life a serendipitous conversation from almost 35 years ago, between the late Sir Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, where they mapped out ‘what happens next’ to the wonderful characters in the world of their internationally best-selling novel,” according to Prime Video. The series follows Michael Sheen‘s angel Aziraphale and David Tennant‘s demon Crowley,...

The third and final season of “Good Omens” is set to move forward at Prime Video after being paused following sexual assault allegations made against showrunner Neil Gaiman.
The final installment, which was previously announced back in December, will begin production in early 2025 and be reduced to one 90-minute episode starring Michael Sheen and David Tennant, who return as the angel Aziraphale and demon Crowley, respectively.
It will also bring a serendipitous conversation from almost 35 years ago to life between the late Sir Terry Pratchett and Gaiman, where they mapped out what happens next to the characters in the world of their internationally best-selling novel, according to the streamer.
The finale will be executive produced by Amazon MGM Studios, BBC Studios Productions’ head of comedy Josh Cole and Narrativia’s Rob Wilkins, who represents Pratchett’s estate. While Gaiman has contributed to the writing of the finale, he will not be working on the production.

“Good Omens” Season 3 will be just one episode and will move forward without Neil Gaiman, Variety has learned.
It was previously announced that Season 3 of the Amazon Prime Video series, which is based on the book of the same name by Terry Pratchett and Gaiman, would be the show’s last. However, production was paused on the third season in September after Gaiman was accused of sexual assault by multiple women.
Now, Prime Video has confirmed that Season 3 will consist of one 90-minute episode, with production expected to resume in early 2025 in Scotland. According to an individual with knowledge of the situation, Gaiman had contributed to the writing of the series finale, but he will not be working on the show once production resumes. He is also no longer listed among the show’s executive producers for the final episode.

Good Omens is getting a final send-off, albeit a truncated one.
The Amazon fantasy drama will end with one 90-minute episode in lieu of a full third season with creator Neil Gaiman exiting after allegations were made against him by a slew of women.
Michael Sheen and David Tennant, play the angel Aziraphale and demon Crowley, respectively, will return for the one-off television movie, which will begin shooting in early 2025 in Scotland, after pre-production was paused due to the allegations.
Gaiman contributed to the writing of the series finale but will not be working on the production and his production company the Blank Corporation is no longer involved. A new writer is expected to finish up the work, although insiders said that deal has not been closed.
This comes after Tortoise Media released a podcast that chronicled accounts of two women, with whom he was in consensual relationships, who accused him of sexual assault.

The third and final season of Good Omens at Prime Video will stretch — or maybe shrink — the definition of “season” in TV terms.
The Amazon-owned streamer announced Thursday that the series, which stars Michael Sheen and David Tennant and is based on Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett’s novel, will end with a single, feature-length episode. The 90-minute installment is set to begin production early next year in Scotland.
Prime Video also noted that Gaiman won’t be involved in production on the series ender (though he did contribute to its writing). Earlier this year, five women accused the author of sexual assault; their claims are detailed in a podcast titled Master: The Allegations Against Neil Gaiman. He has denied any wrongdoing but offered to step away from the final Good Omens to let the production go forward and conclude the story.

Eric Kripke created one of the best comic book adaptations of recent times with The Boys, which proved to be a major hit for Amazon Prime Video. He also created the paranormal drama series Supernatural, serving as the showrunner for five seasons before stepping down. However, Kripke was once attached to develop a television adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman.

While the Netflix version of the series received praise from critics, the earlier iteration developed by Kripke did not receive Gaiman’s approval. As a result, it isn’t surprising that the adaptation did not move beyond the initial development stage. Kripke opened up about the failed adaptation of The Sandman, and here is what he had to say.

On September 9, 2024, Eisner Award winning comic artist John Cassaday passed away at the too-young age of 52. He was widely mourned by his industry peers and fans, who never worked with or met Cassaday, have lost any new fruits of his great talent. Before he became an artist, Cassaday studied film in college. Once you know that, his drawing style really clicks into place. Cassaday often drew huge images (both in wide and standard panels), the kind a movie screen demands, and his characters had detailed, photorealistic faces. It's no surprise he broke into comics during the mid-90s, when that style was taking off. If I could compare his work to a fellow artist, it would be Bryan Hitch.
Just as Hitch broke out working with writer Warren Ellis on "The Authority," Cassaday teamed with Ellis for the series "Planetary," published at WildStorm (a DC publishing imprint) from 1999 to 2009 across 27 issues.

At long last, we got our first look at the second season of The Sandman during Netflix's Geeked Week. The show will continue to adapt Neil Gaiman's seminal fantasy comic about Dream and his band of eternal siblings, each of which represents a different as aspect of the human condition. Dream is the lord of dreams, which puts him in contact with all sorts of characters from myth and legend. The second season will adapt a story from the comics where a bunch of them travel to Dream's realm to attend to a matter of succession, which means Egyptian gods mingle with Norse gods mingle with freaky demons. It should be a good time.
We got a glimpse of some of these newcomers in a behind-the-scenes video. I want to draw attention to a couple of people in particular, since they're veterans of the Game of Thrones universe...

The Golden Bachelorette Contestant to Have Screen Time Reduced After Past Restraining Order Revealed
Another show in the Bachelor franchise is dealing with a contestant’s unsavory past.
The Golden Bachelorette contestant Gil Ramirez, who received a rose in this week’s season premiere, had a temporary restraining order filed against him three months ago by an ex-girlfriend, People magazine reports. In a June court filing, the ex-girlfriend accused Ramirez of stalking and harassment, claiming he made “25 attempts daily via phone, texts, video” to contact her and “showed up at places I frequent to confront me on a daily basis.” The temporary restraining order was granted and then extended before being dropped when the case was dismissed.

Neil Gaiman is synonymous with The Sandman, both the DC comics he created and the Netflix series based on them, on which he is an executive producer. Ahead of the show’s 2022 launch, the streamer even released a video playing up Gaiman’s wonder at touring the sets, following him as he marveled at seeing his creations in physical form for the first time.
So when Netflix put out a behind-the-scenes peek at The Sandman Season 2 on Thursday, Gaiman’s absence from the video was notable — particularly in light of recent sexual assault allegations made against the beloved fantasy author.

Season 2 of the The Sandman went into production last year, then had to be put on pause for a while due to the writers and actors strikes. Thankfully, The Sandman season 2 was able to resume production as soon as those strikes came to an end, and a couple months ago we heard that new cast additions include Esmé Creed-Miles (Hanna) as Delirium, Adrian Lester (Hustle) as Destiny, and Barry Sloane (Pleasureland) as The Prodigal. When Netflix ordered season 2, they said, “The Sandman will return with new episodes based on multiple volumes of the Neil Gaiman graphic novel to explore even more stories of the Endless.“
