The full ensemble cast is announced for the remake of 1989’s The War Of The Roses which will star Olivia Colman and Benedict Cumberbatch.
It’s been just over a month since we learned that Jay Roach would be remaking the 1989 relationship comedy, War Of The Roses and we now have a fuller idea of what the film’s cast looks like.
We already knew that the new adaptation would be starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Olivia Colman as the central couple, who just like Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner in the 1989 original, proceed with a nasty yet entertaining divorce.
A fresh report (via Deadline) has now confirmed that the film’s cast will be rounded out by Kate McKinnon, Andy Samberg and Doctor Who's Ncuti Gatwa.
McKinnon and Samberg are both established comedy stars who’ve led films themselves, so grabbing them both in supporting roles is a real coup.

Benedict Cumberbatch and Olivia Colman are going to have a nasty divorce.
The two British stars have signed on to star in The Roses, Searchlight’s reimagining of the 1989 dark comedy The War of the Roses, which starred Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner.
Jay Roach, the comedy director who segued into drama with movies such as Recount and Bombshell, is helming the feature that is in development at the studio arm. Tony McNamara, who earned an Oscar nomination for writing Searchlight’s acclaimed Poor Things, penned the script, which is based on the novel published in 1981 by Warren Adler.
The original movie, directed by Danny DeVito and released by 20th Century Fox, told of a married couple, Oliver and Barbara Rose, who seemingly live the perfect life in a perfect old mansion. David Fincher's pitch-black new thriller Gone Girl is, among many other things, a compelling two-and-a-half-hour argument for staying single.
As was the case in Gillian Flynn's bestselling novel, the central soured marriage between Nick (Ben Affleck) and Amy (Rosamund Pike) only grows more unsettling the more you discover about both parties, the seemingly perfect veneer peeling back inch by inch to reveal festering dysfunction.
We can never get enough festering dysfunction over at Digital Spy, so here are seven more of the big screen's most shining examples of marital strife.
1. George and Martha (Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?)
The crumbling couple that arguably inspired every other on this list. Edward Albee created the archetypal marriage in spectacular meltdown in his blistering 1962 play, and real-life sparring lovers Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor bring George and Martha vividly to life on the big screen.

After doing the rounds on VoD for a few weeks, where many of you will have seen it, Sarah Polley's "Take This Waltz" starts to roll out in theaters from tomorrow, and we can't recommend it enough; it's a messy, sometimes frustrating film, but a deeply felt, beautifully made and wonderfully acted one, and we named it last week as one of the best of the year so far. It is not, however, recommended as a date movie, fitting into a long cinematic tradition of painful examinations of broken, decaying, collapsing or dead relationships.
After all, it's one of the more universal human experiences; unless you get very lucky, everyone who falls in love will at some point have the wrenching experience of falling out of it, or being fallen out of love with. And when done best in film, it can be bruising and borderline torturous for a filmmaker and an audience,...

Torchwood: Miracle Day
A bunch of cast photos are out for the Starz and BBC co-production.
Angry Boys
Chris Lilley's much-hyped "Angry Boys" continues its steady ratings decline in Australia, drawing just 569,000 viewers on Wednesday night on the ABC against an audience four times that size watching the football.
Only halfway through its twelve-episode run, the show made its debut on May 11 with an audience of 1.37 million and held steady for the second episode. After that however, the drop began and has declined since.
Reaction to the series has been decidedly less enthusiastic than to his "Summer Heights High", reviewers admiring his take no prisoners approach and certain characters (ie. Gran), but many have been put off by the decided lack of comedy - the shock value of the un-pc language has worn off leaving little in the way of incisive humour. [Source: Smh]

It's got a catchy name. And now it's got a known star attached to it.
Deadline Hollywood reports Goldie Hawn has signed on to anchor The Viagra Diaries, a Darren Starr-produced series based on a book by Barbara Rose Brooker.
While nothing is official yet, the drama would air on HBO and center on Hawn's character, a woman who is single for the first time in 35 years after her husband leaves.
Hawn has not acted in any capacity since 2002's The Banger Sisters.

It has been more than 40 years since we last saw Goldie Hawn as television regular and nearly a decade since her last acting project. But both of those facts could soon change.
Deadline reports that 65-year-old actress is attached to a new comedy in development at HBO, from "Sex and the City" creator Darren Star.
"The Viagra Diaries," based on the book by Barbara Rose Brooker, follows a woman (Hawn) who finds herself single for the first time in 35 years, after her husband has a delayed mid-life crisis. As the title insinuates, 'Diaries' focuses on the romantic and sexual foibles of the older set.
Originally envisioned for a film adaptation, HBO reportedly grabbed the project when producers signed Star to write and executive produce the pilot.
Additionally, Hawn is said to have signed on to the project after "lengthy consideration." Her last TV gig was on "Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In."...

Exclusive: Sex and the City creator/executive producer Darren Star is back at HBO with a sexy female-centered comedy project, this time about the boomer generation. In what would be her first acting gig in a decade, Oscar winner Goldie Hawn has come on board to star in the half-hour comedy, The Viagra Diaries, which is based on the book by Barbara Rose Brooker. Star is writing the script and is executive producing the project with Hawn, Aaron Kaplan and Wendy, Peter Riche and Alan Riche. It centers on a woman (Hawn) who, after her husband has a "mid-life crisis" at 65 and leaves her, struggles with being single for the first time in 35 years. Brooker's novel was first eyed for a feature, with husband-and-wife duo Alan and Wendy Riche and their son Peter attached to produce. It was subsequently optioned by Kaplan, who took it to HBO with Star signing on to write and executive produce.
