Sherri Howard(I)

Sherri Howard was born in Sherman, Texas to Eugene and Barbara Howard
and spent her formative years in Alaska. It was there that she won her
first gold medal in the 200 meter run in the Arco Jesse Owens Games.
After her father's transfer to Norton Air Force Base in California, she
continued to break records and became the number one athlete in America
in the 400 meter run while still in high school. Through the
exceptional coaching skills of her father, Sherri and her sisters
became known as "The Howard Sisters - the First Family of Track".
Together they set seven national records in a three week period, which
is something that has never been mastered by any high school track
team, both girls and boys. Also throughout her track career, she has
been a recipient of numerous awards and honors. Besides her Olympic
gold and silver medals, she has also won two NCAA Division I Track and
Field Championship titles in the 400 meters and has been named Athlete
of the Year. More fascinating is she has a B.S. Degree in Electrical
Engineering from California State University.
In addition to her athletic career, Sherri's passion for acting landed her roles in several primetime shows such as The X-Files (1993), Diagnosis Murder (1993), Martial Law (1998), Profiler (1996) and Beverly Hills, 90210 (1990). In Universal's blockbuster feature, The Scorpion King (2002), which stars Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) and Michael Clarke Duncan, she combined her athletic skills and acting abilities in the electrifying role of the Warrior Queen Isis. She has guest-starred on numerous fitness shows such as Body by Jake (1988), Strength and Fitness Profile and Beach Clash. She has been featured in numerous commercials and has appeared as a model in magazines such as Muscle and Fitness, Life, and Shape. Her skills as a commentator have been utilized for the PAC 10 Championships and the World University Games on ESPN, the Special Olympics, the ARCO Jesse Owens Games, and several other televised events.
