Born and raised in Auckland, New Zealand, Mark Petrie traveled to the
US after winning a scholarship to study film scoring at Berklee College
of Music. Chosen as one of the recipients of the Pete Carpenter
Fellowship, he moved to Los Angeles to learn from the TV music icon
Mike Post.
Since moving to Los Angeles, Mark has scored over fifty films, notably Unconditional, an uplifting family drama starring Lynn Collins and Michael Ealy; Apron Strings, a New Zealand drama that screened at the Toronto Film Festival; A Dangerous Place, an action thriller starring Kristen Dalton; Farmhouse, a horror starring Kelly Hu and Steven Weber; and Jay and Seth vs The Apocalypse, a dark comedy starring Jay Baruchel and Seth Rogen.
In addition to his work in film, Mark's music is heard every day in trailers, documentaries, TV shows, political campaigns and major sporting events worldwide.
