Ryan Balton is an Emmy Award-winning jib, Steadicam, techno, and remote head camera operator based in the New York City/Philadelphia area. His credits include live entertainment events, episodics, reality, comedy specials, concerts and music videos, broadcast studio programming, sports, and corporate. Ryan started his career with ESPN Studio Operations, after graduating with a bachelors degree in Policy Studies and Television, Radio, Film from Syracuse University, where he was the general manager of the campus TV studio, CitrusTV.
Ryan grew up in Milford, PA with the family camcorder in his hands. He was building jibs before he was building LEGOs, with his late father Bruce and uncle Rob, two New York City grips turned jib camera operators.
Giving back to the community, Ryan serves on the nonprofit board of the directors that runs the Odyssey of the Mind K-12 creative problem-solving program in Pennsylvania. He is a regular volunteer and speaker at his alma maters, Syracuse University and Delaware Valley High School, where he runs a scholarship for graduates of the school newspaper staff.
