...is Amber Ruffin. What is wrong with these 1 star review guys (they're mostly guys!)?? As a non-american, I find most late night humour is trite and dull, but Amber and her writers are real and actually funny. I only watch Seth Meyers for Amber! The 'How did we get here' segments are more hard-hitting than anything you'll get on the other late night shows, and refreshingly the humour isn't sanitised into oblivion. Amber is genuinely quick witted, and genuine in generally actually - interviews with guests have been a lovely because they've been with people she really admires and appreciates. The silly bits are silly, and they acknowledge they are; let's face it, absurdity is necessary in these absurd times. I can't help but wonder how she would do in the UK, though I for one would watch the hell out of anything Amber does. 9 stars because there's always room for improvement!
It's easy to get tired of the same old jokes from regular late night shows. This offers a fresh perspective, no matter one's political stance. The show is filled with really good stuff, delivered fantastically well. Amber Ruffin is great on Seth Myers, and is even better here, with a chance to do longer forms of her material. She's the comic (and often brutal social commentator) who I enjoy the most next to Frankie Boyle. Her interaction with guests is joyous, and she clearly has a great team of writers on her side. Favourite sections for me are the monologue and the "How Did We Get here" parts, which should probably be required watching for anyone who doesn't know their history - it's certainly taught me a few things!

How did she get a show?!
Can Tarik Davis be the host instead? He at least has humor, wit, charisma and comedic timing, all things that Amber Ruffin lacks. Maybe if she says her lines with an even bigger toothy smile they'll be funny.... Nope, didn't work. Evert time she opens her mouth it's just cringy and off-putting. I tried watching a few episodes but end up changing the channel, actually feeling bad for her while thinking "no girl, please stop"

To be honest, I've never watched this show. I've liked Amber Ruffin in other things I've seen her in. Obviously this show has been review bombed by a bunch of sad white baby-men. Sorry Black women are so scary to you.

Plain and simple: Not funny, not entertaining - there's a lot of other people that should have a show before her.

Is the show perfect? Nope I've seen a few of her jokes flop, no one but her and her writers should care about those jokes. As long as they don't out number the genuinely funny jokes, which they dont. I was visiting my grandpa the night Leno got the tonight show. Grandpa was fairly upset. Everybody's got an opinion.
I don't know if all these one star reviews are just dinosaurs that don't get the jokes (likely too generous) or are the same trolls going after other not white people, for not being white , but she makes me laugh, frequently. I appreciate your work Amber. Thank you for not forgetting to be awesome.

Whenever she shows up on Seth Meyers, that's the end of the episode for me. She is so f*#king bad. I've never seen anyone less funny. This needs to be 150 characters.

Amber is not just hilarious but willing to tackle the most serious and uncomfortable issues facing our country right now. The pandemic has messed up everything but I'm glad it couldn't stop this show. Excited to see where it goes from here!

She thinks she is hilarious. She is alone in that thought. Humor is like a fart, if you have to force it, it's probably poop.
That is this show in a nutshell, poop.

This show is excellent. Amber has a really rare form of humor. As a writer, her jokes have great timing and are very smart. She is also GREAT at presenting her jokes with a very goofy and slapstick delivery. There's also a sense of warmth about her that makes her feel less like a celebrity and more like a quirky friend.
The reason this show is likely lowly rated right now is because the audience of the Peacock streaming service doesn't seem to be taking off yet. She also has no guests or audience because of the pandemic (which they make plenty of fun of).
This show is also, while excellent, not for everyone. The political climate is very polarizing nowadays, and Amber is obviously very liberal in her views based on her jokes. She also discusses race and makes light fun of white people (but it's all in jest, and she is married to a white man). I personally am a politically independent white man and find a majority of these jokes absolutely hysterical. I just wish people would be more open minded about this.
She also discusses topics dealing with racism and feminism with seriousness on occasion. I'd say 30 percent of her show is dedicated towards social issues. I'd suggest watching this show with an open mind and realize that Amber isn't the "political agenda" type. Bill Maher and Stephen Colbert fit that category. Amber talks politics from her own experience which I think is so important.

I laugh more consistently watching this show than any other late night show. And the effort they put in (with no guests to lean on) is impressive. They create original songs every episode and try out new creative bits to keep it fresh. I just get bored with the segments where she gives a straightforward lecture that's just a collection of oversimplified liberal talking points. I can usually enjoy funny satire from different perspectives, but I don't see the point in those preachy pieces. Anyway, the goofy and bright style of humor in the rest of the show keeps me coming back.

Amber Ruffin might be a fair writer but in front of the camera she looks lost. Her delivery is horrible and material is worse. I'd have to say watching a colonoscopy would be a welcome reprieve from watching this show.
Amber's ability to make jokes based on current events is refreshing. I often learn a lot from watching. It's nice to have someone with a platform who can speak to the way many of us feel, all while laughing. Amber is genius. Tarik is a great sidekick. This show is 10/10.
This has to have a 100% of Rotten Tomatoes only because all the critics were paid or they all wanted to appear woke. This isn't funny or entertaining at all and seeing ads for it on all my social media has planted little seeds of resentment in my brain. It honestly just pains me and induces severe cringe.

Thankfully, this show is more on the positive side due to Amber's energetic approach to the news. If you have Peacock, you'll be lucky to know about this weekly program. Highly recommend.
I'm convinced that any review above a 6.5 star is fake. I just did not think the show was that funny. Seemed similar to other late-night shows that just seem played out and like the host thinks they're the funniest person there. Just my opinion though.

I think Amber Ruffin is an incredible writer, and her segments on Seth Myers have been some of my favorite on his show.
The Amber Ruffin show is going up, with no live audience, exclusively on a streaming service. Which is not common with late night talk shows. She also has no guests. I guarantee that it will take a little bit of time for it all for this to feel more natural. I really like Amber as a comedian, and I really really hope this show doesn't get cancelled.

The Amber Ruffin Show is best described as an anomaly! She has been given - or rather earned - an eponymous late night "talk show"! And she is forging her own path in this audience free Covid-19 world.
First two shows were way too amateurish - in my misbegotten opinion. BUT by the third show I fell for her persona and now I'm hooked.
Keep the good work up Amber Ruffin!
April 2021 - update!
I have upped my rating to a '10' because The Amber Ruffin Show has been on a path of great improvement. Ms Ruffin has wonderfully succeeded in creating a mix of serious national topics and an intellectual level of levity that maintains the truth and makes us laugh at ourselves. Bravo to Amber!

Read the review title. She shouldn't have a show not trying to be mean but there are a lot more amusing people to have a show.

Recently started watching, so haven't watched older episodes as they're no longer topical, so I don't what it was like then, though it probably didn't change much. The show's just really goofy, and the lack of a studio audience doesn't help, but if you like silly-turn-your-brain-off humor, it's pretty funny. Also it's not all about race and politics, so I don't know where that idea came from-maybe it was more prominent in the earlier episodes.

Amber is obviously adorable but I think her ability to go between total goofball and incredibly sincere is a gift. She kills it.

Every time and add comes up for this show I immediately close my peacock app. She is so annoying and the jokes are just cringeworthy. Me and my friends laugh about how bad this show it and how much we hate amber Ruffin. Get this show off the airwaves

To be fair, I was always rooting for Amber's show, yet early episodes were so full of songs and filler ramblings, without much structure.
Recent episodes, as of 3/11/22, have TOTALLY RAISED THE BAR, with a solid monologue, fun bits, some infotainment welcome by me, and yeah still some songs which are now MUCH funnier than past performances.
This show has grown over a short period of time so much.
Went from cheering for the show to CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE!

I think that this show is ingenious. Amber is fresh and funny. Tarik Davis is a perfect balance. I am currently binging on all of the episodes. I highly recommend this.
