A crazy adventure comedy with touches of Brazilian action.
It is about a policeman who in punishment for his performance is given to take care of a goat, unleashing an adventure.
Silly.
With situation jokes, some organic and many forced, flatulence and sarcasm.
Entertaining.
Quality.
The special effects are lousy, highly computerized and the action stunts in the same vein.
Disconnect your brain to see it.
With inconsistencies but that are consistent with the type of film.
Silly humor throughout the movie.
Ideal for Sunday.
A crazy Brazilian comedy, half parody, half buddy movie, full of references from American films.
A bit heavy for my taste but can be seen without the fuss.

I had never heard about this 2021 Portuguese action crime comedy from writers Vitor Brandt and Denis Nielsen prior to now in 2022 as I had the opportunity to sit down and watch it. I wasn't sure what I was in for, but I have to say that the movie's synopsis definitely sounded like this movie could be entertaining.
And I will say that director Vitor Brandt managed to deliver not only an entertaining movie, but also a very enjoyable and funny movie here with "Cabras da Peste" (aka "Get the Goat"). I was genuinely entertained by the storyline and the comedy throughout the course of the 97 minutes that the movie ran for. A good amount of laughs to be enjoyed here, in addition to an actually nice storyline and colorful characters.
"Cabras da Peste" definitely felt like something in the likes of "Beverly Hills Cop", heck it even had the music as well, as well as movies such as "Tango & Cash" and "Rush Hour". So if you enjoyed action movies of that type, laced with comedy, then you will also like "Cabras da Peste".
The character gallery in "Cabras da Peste" was good, and very nicely detailed and written. I loved the name of Edmilson Filho's character, which was Bruceuilis, as well as the names of his family members. That was just hilarious.
"Cabras da Peste" is quite enjoyable, and if you get the chance to watch it, I say go for it, because it was well-worth the time and effort.
My rating of "Cabras da Peste" lands on a six out of ten stars.

What is your take on silly? Because this is as silly as things get! Also if you are fluent in portuguese it might come in handy. Getting all the jokes first hand, rather than translated either by dub or subtitles ... surely that is fine too, but maybe not for everyone. Same goes for the comedy - some will like it, some others will not at all.
They say do not work with animals and children, but when you have a goat in the title .. you have to have him/her in the movie sometime ... that aside, this is more of buddy comedy thing, with fallouts and all the other cliches and predictable things that come along with that. Still this is enjoyable if you let it be.

I could not get through 20 minutes of this piece of $hit. Maybe it got better; proceed at your own risk.
If you naturally spoke Portuguese, the movie might be good.
The version that I saw has the dubbed English as if is English was ESL, specifically Oriental. Imagine that -- a Latino movie with East Asian English speech. Moreover, the speech & mouth movement is way off.

Very funny parody of American police films, where Edmilson Filho manages to make a great mix of Renato Aragão with Jackie Chan. The mood ranges from the innocent to the sophisticated, with great jokes and great balances, always keeping laughter in high frequency.
The rest of the cast gets into the mood very well, from the famous to the unknown, with emphasis on the always great Matheus Nachtergale, perfect in the one-two with Edmislon, and Falcão showing enormous talent and presence on the scene.
The direction is great, fluid, competent in humor and great action scenes for national cinema. The fighting choreographies, obviously inspired by Jackie Chan's films, are surprising for their quality, with agility, humor and great editing.
The national version of the classic song of "Beverly Hills Cop", "The Heat Is On", was fantastic. Full of quotes from stars and action films from the 80s and 90s, the film is delicious.
It has countless hilarious and clever scenes, something rare in national comedies. The scene where Edmilson and Matheus need to pretend to be a gay couple to enter an event is sensational, without appeals or extremisms, showing the immense talent of the two actors. The scene in which Edmilson discovers that the Chinese restaurant only has Northeasterners is a great idea.
Every technical part is excellent, with a few minor slips in the sound. Great national comedy that stands out from the no-brainer and repetitive comedies that multiply in Brazil, even from Leandro Hassun, who after he lost weight and wanted to become a dramatic actor, melted the broth. Edmilson Filho is a great heir to the innocent and fun humor of "Os Trapalhões", but with his own personality.
What was that? How this has 6.3 Imdb? I can't even imagine this. It was something that you could see in 2000s' and it would be maximum 6/10. In nowadays drop this to us it's just an insult. Acting was terrible, plot didn't make sense, special effects were hideous. First time seeing such boring acting and lack of identity in movie. Daddy jokes didn't add value to this. If this would be parody of movie then yeah, I might give it a 5 but now it's just terrible. Netflix has to stop adding such low quality movies. Don't watch it.

During these times of despair a movie like this one is what we all need. Humor that doesn't offend anybody and is light for a movie night with the family. We laughed through out the movie and enjoyed the many subtle jokes and Easter eggs that the filmmakers and the actors delivered so nicely! Fully recommend!

This movie loaded with clichés that are no longer funny, causing shame in others.
Great cast with the illustrious presence of Matheus Nachtergaele but in a film that doesn't even come close to the epic Auto da Compadecida (2000).
Brazil has already produced more authentic comedians.
I wasted my time.
I'd give it less stars if I could. I did expect it to be bad, I only watched it because I was watching it with someone and she was the one who chose. I guess it was supposed to be a comedy, from most of the jokes I'd assume it was meant for children but I don't see how a kid would find it entertaining either. I can't even begin to describe how bad it was, the single one good thing in it was that the goat was kinda cute ither than that it's just bad acting with bad jokes and a plot that makes no sense whatsoever , I was upset because of how bad it was rather than being entertained even though there are a dozen movies that are admittedly not good but I still love.
I recommend watching it if you want to fall asleep or recommend it to people you hate I guess.

A parody of a zillion Hollywood buddy cop movies, with many Brazilian references that I find almost impossible to understand if you don't know the culture.
Ex. The song sung at the funeral is funny in itself because its original version is very happy and seen in this context is ridiculously hilarious.

Well, it's a Brazilian movie and I read in the other reviews that you need to be Brazilian to fully appreciate it. Okay, I'm not a Brazilian, so if some stuff was lost in translation then it was lost for me. But I guess I can still write a review telling what I saw and what I felt.
So let's start. When watching it, you will immediately remember old classics like Beverly Hills Cop or Police Academy. It's that kind of film. Some people would say it's parody but can you really do a parody of a comedy? It's rather a rip-off of such films. Very silly, very improbable and occasionally funny. With a lot of well known cliches like two cops with totally different personalities. It wasn't even very Brazilian for me, it could happen in Usa, Hong Kong, France or wherever.
For me sometimes it worked, sometimes it was cringy. I would probably find it more funny if I was younger. Is it just me or stupid films are generally less fun when you get older?

If you're not from Brazil you may not understand the jokes presented in the movie. A lot of the scenes are based on Hollywood clichês (specially B. Hills Cop) and the comments we usually make on them. And most of the time the jokes are based on Brazilian internal jokes and stereotypes only we are aware of. It's even complicated to explain them. I can understand people who don't like it. But as a Brazilian I like it a lot.

Very well done, it's a similar style to Will Ferrell, the characters are very lovable, I wish 'the watch' had been done more like this because these actors manifest the Pratchett humour perfectly, ranging from subtle to so blunt you could measure with it.. A lot of the conversations are ones you've had before that leave you feeling like you're the nutcase while people pass off their idiosyncrasies as the norm. I also love the way gentle people are passively portrayed as a majority rather than the western vice versa.
