Joel and Tess flirt a little.
In the 'Left Behind' DLC (which is not a part of the main game), Ellie finds a skull toy, which is basically a magic 8 ball. At one point Ellie asks it, "Am I ever going to get boobs or what?"
There is a comedic scene where Ellie finds a porn magazine (played for laughs and nothing is shown).
Some female clickers have a breast out with a hard to see nipple.

Killing is done for survival. Though it includes shooting and melee attacks. Shooting results in some blood.
In the settings, gore can be turned off. Turning this off disables nudity (which in the first place can only be seen by finding rare paintings), dismemberments, and any over-dramatic blood bursts. It should be noted that there is still blood, it's just much less graphic.
Because this version of the game is a graphical overhaul, blood in this game is more realistic than it was in previous iterations.
Shotguns result in dismemberment, this is realistic. Older teens can probably handle it.
Sometimes, after enemies are wounded, they will beg for you to spare them. Almost all of the time, the choice is at will of the player to either kill them or allow them to live.
A tool you can use in the game is the nail bomb; nail bombs explode when enemies come into contact with them, resulting in gory dismemberment.
M violence type: blood, gore and graphic.

There are a few F-Bombs. Other milder profanities used on occasion.
Use of "f*ck and its variants, sh*t, dick, d*mn, g***n, a**, a**hole, hell, etc." Along with infrequent use of "cocksucker" from the NPC enemies. The majority of profanity comes from Ellie.
Human enemies sometimes swear during combat.

Due to some of it's content, it's best left for older teens.
The bloaters and clickers may be scary to younger audiences, especially considering that they jump out of nowhere most of the time.
The player will find at least two depictions of suicide throughout the game.
Infected enemies wail and twitch on the ground when they are dismembered for a short period of time before dying.
Finishing off injured human enemies becomes a common occurrence in the game. They often beg and bargain with the player to spare their lives, however sparing them is often not an option as they'll eventually recover and attempt to kill the player again.
Joel and Ellie's death animations can be bloody and disturbing.
Gunfights and combat encounters in this game are often chaotic and incredibly frightening, with enemy combatants shouting at you and calling out your position.
