Though I’m more of a casual Trekkie, something about Star Trek Lower Decks really clicked with me. I admittedly slept on it for a few years, but after finally giving it a chance, I immediately fell in love with its charming cast of scrappy underdogs, witty humor, and inventive sci-fi storytelling. Just my luck that I become obsessed with the show right as its coming to an end.

But though this may be the last on-screen adventure for our beloved Lower Deckers, at least for now, I’m happy to report that Season 5 sends them off in style with the kind of intelligence and forward thinking that makes Star Trek so beloved alongside the humor and underdog spirit that sets Lower Decks apart from the crowd. Though bear in mind that this only applies to the first five episodes, as that was what was made available to me at time of writing.

The Sidemen are showing off their turtle power at their new retail outlet. As the creator septet opens up its second clothing store in Birmingham, England, it is announcing a partnership with Paramount that will result in a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles-themed Sidemen apparel line.

The collection will consist of 13 pieces, ranging from t-shirts to jackets to hoodies, all emblazoned with exclusive designs. As a nod to the side hustle of Sidemen member Ksi, the line also includes some boxing paraphernalia like gloves and wraps.

“The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are some of our most iconic and well-loved characters, so it felt natural for us to collaborate with the U.K.’s biggest YouTube stars, The Sidemen, on this new range,” said Paramount exec Rebecca Jenkins in a statement. “From T-shirts to boxing gloves, there’s something for everyone, and we can’t wait for fans to get their hands on it.

“Dune: Part Two,” “Inside Out 2” and “The Creator” lead the feature nominations for this year’s Hollywood Professional Association (Hpa) Awards with three apiece. The awards will be presented during a Nov. 7 gala at the Television Academy in North Hollywood.

“Dune: Part Two” was nominated in the categories for color grading, editing and sound; “The Creator,” for color grading, sound and visual effects; and “Inside Out 2” for color grading in an animation feature, sound, and VFX in an animated feature. The eligibility period runs from September to September.

As previously announced, during the ceremony FotoKem will receive the Charles S. Swartz Award for industry contributions. Adobe, Disguise, Cuebric and Evercast will be honored for engineering excellence.

About ‘Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’

And soon, they will appear on the small screen in the series Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, exclusively on Paramount+. Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is arriving just in time to help parents keep their kids entertained until school is back in session. The Seth Rogen-produced film “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem” was a tremendous commercial and critical success when it hit theaters in 2023. Building on that momentum, Paramount+ is bringing this newest iteration of the turtles back in a brand-new limited animated series. “Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” will hit the streaming service on August 9, the first new series in the franchise since 2018’s “Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.”

The creative pedigree behind the show is significant. Between them, showrunners Chris Yost and Alan Wan have worked on every animated incarnation of the turtles since 2003.

In Wan’s case, he’s been moving up the production ladder with each subsequent show with which he’s been involved. Quinta Brunson (Abbott Elementary) and Stephanie Hsu (Everything Everywhere All at Once) are on board to star in Par for the Course, a new comedy feature for Universal Pictures, which Brunson will also co-write and produce.

Plot details for the film are being kept under wraps, though we’re told it’s based on an original idea from Brunson. She’s co-writing the script with Abbott Elementary‘sJustin Tan, who will also direct, in his feature debut. Alex McAtee is producing for Point Grey, under the company’s first-look deal with Universal, with Brunson to produce for Fifth Chance. Senior Executive Vice President of Production Development Erik Baiers and Creative Executive Jacqueline Garell will oversee the project on behalf of the studio.

When Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem opened a year ago, it hit like a mutagen bomb. Despite our fab four characters of Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Raphael being around for decades—this year marks their 40th(!) anniversary—never before had anyone really thought about treating them like… teenagers.

In the dizzyingly animated film, the characters were played by real adolescents like Nicolas Cantu (Leo), Micah Abbey (Donnie), Shamon Brown Jr. (Mikey), and Brady Noon (Raph). None of whom were old enough to vote when first stepping into the recording booth—a place where they recorded entirely together and in a style apropos of writers and producers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. The creatives who long favored spontaneity, and in this case the filmmakers wanted to catch the giggling authenticity of youth.

But you can’t be a kid forever, even if you’re a pizza-loving turtle in a half-shell.

A brand-new teaser trailer for Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has been revealed ahead of the cartoon's August 9th debut. And the new footage reveals that Metalhead—a beloved, mechanical "5th Turtle"—will be making his appearance.

Metalhead had earlier appearances in both the animated series from 2012 and the iconic '80s cartoon. The character made his comic book debut in the 2014 Idw Tmnt series, in issue 34, which takes place during the Monsters, Misfits, and Madmen narrative arc.

In the action figure community, in particular, Metalhead has been a fan favorite since its introduction back in the '80s.

Paramount+ Announces Voice Cast for ‘Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’...

A new promotional image for the forthcoming animated series Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, produced by Nickelodeon and Paramount+, has been released by Total Film magazine (via Toonado).

The animated series will pick up where the 2023 animated feature film from director Jeff Rowe and writers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg left off. Mutant Mayhem grossed $180.5 million worldwide on a $70 million production budget.

While the film may not have reached the box office heights that Paramount wished, the studio pressing on with more plans for this new radical take on the Turtles, in addition to the forthcoming Paramount+ animated series, an animated film sequel that will feature the Shredder is also in development. The sequel is slated to release on October 9, 2026.

Speaking to Total Film, executive producer Chris Yost shared some of the material that served as inspiration for Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

The gods are smiling down at Netflix, where Zack Snyder’s highly anticipated “Twilight of the Gods” has set its premiere date.

The all-new Norse mythology-centered animated series from the “Rebel Moon” director is set in “a mythical world of great battles, great deeds, and great despair” where the mortal king Leif is saved on the battlefield by the iron-willed warrior Sigrid, with whom he falls in love. The first full trailer for Paramount+'s 2D animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem spin-off series, Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, is now online, and it brings us up to speed with the fun-loving Heroes in a Half-Shell following the events of the critically-acclaimed movie.

The teaser reveals that Leo, Mikey, Raph and Donnie will actually be flying solo at the start of the series, and we will likely follow them on individual adventures before they regroup to face off against a new villain who goes by the name of Bishop.

Paramount+ has launched the full official trailer for the animated spin-off series titled Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, debuting in August later this summer. "I need new butts to kick!!" Paramount+ has revealed a quick teaser for their upcoming animated spin-off series titled Tales of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, set to launch sometime this summer. This is a continuation of the massively successful animated movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem from last year, one of my favorites as well. Set after the events of the 2023 movie, the Turtles emerge from the sewers and onto the streets of New York, where they are faced with new threats & team up with old allies, to navigate through teenage life and villains in the city. The Turtles must deal with their new life as heroes while also dealing with the pressures of going to high school in New York City. Micah Abbey, Shamon Brown Jr., Nicolas Cantu, and Brady Noon reprise their roles from the film as the Turtles, alongside Ayo Edebiri reprising her role as April O'Neil.

Despite some of the Ssu movies getting mixed or negative reviews (like Morbius), the Ssu keeps going and now has many live-action and animated projects in the works, focusing on Spider-Man’s side characters and villains. ‘Madame Web’ came out on February 14th and didn’t do well, with Dakota Johnson criticizing its development publicly.

Upcoming releases include ‘Kraven the Hunter’ on August 30th, 2024, and ‘Venom: The Last Dance,’ which changed its release date to October 25th instead of November 3rd. ‘Venom’ is the most successful franchise in the Ssu, so it’s not surprising that there are reports of Feige wanting to bring him into the MCU.

In addition to the upcoming spinoff series “Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” (it’s coming to Paramount+ this summer), the world of last year’s hugely entertaining Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem will expand with an official sequel in 2026.

Paramount will release the untitled Mutant Mayhem sequel on October 9, 2026.

In last year’s movie, “After years of being sheltered from the human world, the Turtle brothers set out to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as normal teenagers through heroic acts. Their new friend April O’Neil helps them take on a mysterious crime syndicate, but they soon get in over their heads when an army of mutants is unleashed upon them.”

“Percy Jackson and the Olympians” Renewed at Disney+

Lightning will strike twice: following a successful, acclaimed first season, Disney+ has officially renewed “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” for a second season.

Adapted from Rick Riordan’s book series of the same name, the series follows the title protagonist Percy (Walker Scobell), a 12-year-old modern demigod who is just coming to terms with his newfound supernatural powers when Zeus (the late Lance Reddick) accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt. With help from his friends Annabeth (Leah Sava Jeffries) and Grover (Aryan Simhadri), Percy begins a journey across America to find it and restore order to Olympus. Season 1 also starred Virginia Kull, Glynn Turman, Jason Mantzoukas, Megan Mullally, Timm Sharp, Dior Goodjohn, Charlie Bushnell, and more.

Last summer’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem from producer Seth Rogen introduced a new generation of heroes through stylized animation and infectious mutant mayhem. The fun isn’t over. New animated series “Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” aims to continue the fun this summer.

The new animated series is currently set to debut on Paramount+ this summer. While the specific date hasn’t been revealed yet, you can currently watch Mutant Mayhem on the streaming service to catch up while we wait.

The official synopsis: “From the universe of the Mutant Mayhem film, the all-new Paramount+ original series explores the adventures of everyone’s favorite pizza-loving heroes as they emerge from the sewers onto the streets of NYC. Leo, Raph, Donnie and Mikey are faced with new threats and team up with old allies to survive both teenage life and villains lurking in the shadows of the Big Apple.

Universal has entered into a first-look film partnership with Point Grey Pictures, the production company of Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and James Weaver. The deal comes following the companies’ past work together on breakout comedy hits including the Neighbors franchise, Good Boys and Blockers.

In a statement on the pact Donna Langley, NBCUniversal Studio Group’s Chairman and Chief Content Officer, observed that “Seth, Evan and James have developed a filmmaking brand entirely their own. Whether we’re watching their stories of teenage turtles, anthropomorphic groceries, or foul mouthed sixth graders making epically bad decisions, they always manage to blend Point Grey’s signature edgy humor with humanity and heart.”

The Dumb Money star has been set as a guest judge and executive producer on The Great Canadian Pottery Throw Down on CBC. Schitt’s Creek star Jennifer Robertson has been named host of the CBC and CBC Gem series, which is set to launch in winter 2024.

The series, based on the UK format The Great Pottery Throw Down from Bake Off indie Love Productions, will see 10 amateur potters take on challenges to create beautiful pieces. Each episode will consist of two creative challenges that test their skill and technique, with one eliminated each week.
