Dubois Records, in cooperation with Mammoth Screen and Masterpiece will release the Victoria – Original Soundtrack digitally on all music streaming platforms to coincide with the Us release of the television series on PBS this coming weekend. The album features the limited series’ original score by multi-bafta and Ivor Novello winning composer Martin Phipps (Woman In Gold, The Keeping Room) and Ruth Barrett (City Of Tiny Lights, Whitechapel) with vocals from the Mediaeval Baebes. Victoria was first aired on ITV in the UK on August 28, 2016.
Phipps says: “The idea was to give Victoria a dynamic voice, an explosive theme through which we could rejoice in her strength & courage. The Mediaeval Baebes were the perfect sound for this. With one foot in the classical world & one in the commercial, they gave Victoria the mixture of refinement & attitude I was after.”
Barrett says: “I started composing from episode 2, weaving in some of Martin...

The BBC apparently has plans for a theme park, rumoured to include the Doctor and Sherlock…
It sounds today like someone from the BBC is in the enviable position of playing real-life Theme Park Tycoon.
We’re hearing that BBC Worldwide has signed a deal to develop a new theme park/holiday resort in north Kent.
The park will feature "rides, interactive simulators and experiences" based on BBC properties, and, although none have been confirmed, Doctor Who (given the form of Cardiff’s Doctor Who Experience) seems like sure thing.
Something incorporating Sherlock, be it a ‘how to fake your own death’ immersive experience or an interactive case that needs cracking, is surely on some planning agendas.
Beyond that, we can only hope the BBC is planning to bring some less-family-friendly properties to their theme park, just for laughs.
Who wouldn’t want, for example, the chance to be haunted...

Michael Palin has been very busy over the past few years. While he has filmed several travel documentaries, published best-selling diaries and starred on stage with Monty Python, he has not appeared in a regular TV series for 20 years.
The comedian will return to the small screen in BBC One's upcoming supernatural thriller Remember Me in November, in which he plays a care home resident who witnesses a violent death, with mysterious circumstances.
The legendary broadcaster and performer spoke to Digital Spy and others about the new show, whether he believes in ghosts and concerns about growing older.
Remember Me's script attracted Palin back to acting
"It just came along, I get offered quite a few things. And this just came in. It was a very good script and the character was immediately involving and challenging and I think I felt straight away, this is a character [I'm interested in].

Michael Palin's return to TV acting has been marked by self-doubts. The 'Monty Python' star is set to return to the small screen in new BBC drama 'Remember Me', in which he plays the role of an 80-year-old man who's driven by voices in his own head to enrol himself at a care home. And Palin, 71, who's not played the lead role in a TV drama since 'GBH' in 1991, concedes he's nervous about the project, saying: ''The risk is ... you suddenly find out, 'Oh, perhaps I wasn't as good after all.' Maybe half way through they'll think, 'Oh dear,...

Michael Palin has said that he is unsure whether to produce a new travel series.
The Monty Python star has filmed eight travel documentary series since 1988, his latest being 2012's Brazil.
However, he has not made any plans to film a ninth, as it takes up a large amount of time to complete.
"I did think about it," he told Digital Spy and others. "To do the series properly, especially if there's a book attached, that's two years of work.
"I'm pretty certain that I couldn't give up two years of my life. That is something about getting older, you start thinking, 'Well, I've got a certain limited amount of time'.
"I want to be light on my feet, doing things like [drama] Remember Me or an arts documentary, rather than commit to two years of being away. I've got two grandsons now, and I don't want to be saying, 'Sorry,...
