Also like British dry humour-Faulty Towers and Top Gear. BBC also produces top notch material such as their Earth documentaries.
I consider the best tv to be:
1) The Wire
2) The Bridge
3) Breaking Bad
4) Sopranos
5) Dexter with its’ sequel

Kapningen (2023)
Very good actors, very bland action
As the apparent next series after STHLM Requiem, I was hopeful that it would be its equal. Kapningen has the same actors but not the same action, excitement or anticipation that was found throughout STHLM Requiem. When dealing with hijacking, terrorism, and intrigue a show builds up a crescendo, not unlike a heart beating faster and faster until the final explosive moments. Kapningen has no such build up. It is acting at the pace of a sleeping sloths heart. I believe that if not for the presence of the actors for whom I had grown to like, I would not have even bothered to venture watching the show's second episode. As befitting a great ensemble weekly piece (such as Breaking Bad, The Wire), I would look forward to the next week's installment with high anticipation. Sadly, I am not really looking forward to next Thursday to watch the latest installment of Kapningen. Instead my mind is on, "What's for dinner next Thursday."
Lyckoviken (2020)
Camilla Läckberg's name drew me to the show
But the acting is by far the worst of her mysteries put on air. Others who liken it to a prime-time soap opera with a murder thrown in for good measure have hit it spot on.
To view a better representation of Läckberg's genre-and Scandi Noir in general-I recommend watching the 2012-2013 television series, Fjällbackamord. Real detective work-and a plus: real acting in this series is what is missing from the Lyckoviken attempt.
That being said, if you are a Scandophile, as I am, then watching the show for the background and nuances of the Swedish language, would not make it a total waste of time! (Back-handed compliment, I realize...)
