Manchester United's plans for the UEFA Youth League have become clearer, following the draw in Nyon.

Adam Lawrence's side have been rewarded with a place in the Under-19 competition after winning the Under-18 Premier League title last term, beating southern champions Chelsea in the final.

It secured a place in the domestic champions path of the tournament, which runs alongside the groups that mirror the senior Champions League fixtures.

United will play either FK Zalgiris or The New Saints in our first assignment.

Zalgiris are based in the Lithuanian city of Kaunas, while TNS are a very successful Welsh side but actually play their home games at Park Hall in Shropshire.

Should we progress to the third round, our youngsters will face either Norwegian outfit Stromsgodset or Dutch side AZ Alkmaar.

The second-round matches are due to be played on 23 October and 6 November, with more details expected to be announced by 4 October.

The third-round ties are scheduled to be on 27 November and 11 December.
