Located in a park in Mexico City, it was inaugurated in 1962. It combines an extremely fast part and a winding part leading back to the return straight. Its high altitude (more than 2,200 meters) imposes specific characteristics for carburetion.
Following uncontrolled crowds on the track, F1 left Mexico after 1970. After work aimed at increasing safety and with a modified route, F1 returned in 1986 only to be abandoned again after 1992.
After further modifications to the route, notably the removal of the Peralta turn in favor of a very slow zone within a real stadium, F1 is back in 2015.
