Blurb
Wireless communications are down on the Brave Olivine, but Friede and Charizard drive away a group of Magneton disrupting the system. Suspicious, Friede follows one of the Magneton, but he gets cornered by a Beheeyem and Terastallizes Charizard to defeat it. Meanwhile, Liko and Murdock go shopping, and Roy returns to the Wattrel he met earlier. Realizing that Wattrel seems nervous about flying, Roy devises some special training to build up its courage—and it works! Wattrel flies to its flock…but then it returns to Roy, who catches it in a Poké Ball! Roy has found a new friend, but elsewhere, Liko is about to lose something very important…
Plot
On the Brave Olivine, Dot is working on getting the phone signal back, but to no avail. Liko, Friede, and Murdock are outside her door, unsure of what to do. Friede suggests starting up the ship to see what happens, but Dot panics at the idea, thinking it's too dangerous since the ship will only fly straight. After Murdock reassures Dot, he suddenly has Liko come with him for some shopping in Levincia. Hearing Noctowl on the top of the ship, Friede goes outside and sees a swarm of Magneton, the cause of the power problem. He has Charizard use Flamethrower to drive them away, ending the electromagnetic storm they were causing. With the Magneton scattering, the power is back, and Friede starts to feel suspicious.
Meanwhile, Roy is looking for Wattrel and spots it sitting on a rock by a river. Roy and Fuecoco hide behind a bush, where they see that Wattrel is not with its flock, who fly to the top of a nearby watchtower. Roy notices that Wattrel remains stationary as Fuecoco goes over to some Combee. Fuecoco's presence scares them off, angering the Vespiquen with them. Vespiquen chases Roy, Fuecoco, and Wattrel around until Wattrel avoids falling into the river, unlike the other two. Wattrel approaches the river before running away from Roy and Fuecoco. Roy says that he just wants to be friends with Wattrel before offering it an Oran Berry to make peace. After Wattrel eats the berry, Roy asks why it didn't fly away before, and Wattrel gets into its flight stance. Roy jumps into the river to give Wattrel extra incentive, but Wattrel, paralyzed by fear, refuses.
As Liko and Murdock walk to town, Murdock thanks Liko for inviting Dot to the picnic they had, wanting her to keep on being a friend to his niece. Liko accepts, saying that Dot gave her the courage to tell her father how she felt about staying with the Rising Volt Tacklers. However, Liko is still worried about the ship not working, but Murdock reassures her that they'll get through it like they've always done. Friede goes after one of the Magneton, contacting Murdock that he'll be a while. During their time in city, Murdock bought himself various kinds of Herba Mystica and enjoyed ice cream with Liko, who happily thanks him for the good time. A Beheeyem watches them from a distance before teleporting away. Liko and Murdock meet up with Roy, who is teaching Wattrel to conquer its fear of heights with jumping drills, though it is still having trouble. Roy encourages Wattrel, as do Liko and Murdock. This gives Wattrel the courage to jump down, and it is amazed that it did so.
Friede still goes after the Magneton, following it into Levincia and cornering it in an alley. He is ambushed as Beheeyem suddenly appears behind him, using Dark Pulse on Spinel's command through a communicator on the side of its head. Charizard dodges before getting hit by Magneton's Zap Cannon while Beheeyem holds it in place with Psychic, leaving Charizard paralyzed. Friede looks around for the voice who is commanding both Pokémon before Charizard gets hit by Magneton's Electro Ball barrage. Spinel prepares to finish the fight with Beheeyem's Meteor Beam. Seeing no other choice, Friede responds by pulling out a Tera Orb and Terastallizing Charizard into a Dark type, weakening Meteor Beam's impact on it and making it immune to Beheeyem's Psychic. Charizard counterattacks with a Dark-type Tera Blast, dealing heavy damage on Beheeyem. When Friede orders Spinel to come out of hiding, Spinel has his two Pokémon Teleport to his location, recalling them into their Poké Balls and planning his next move.
Liko and Sprigatito being hypnotized by Beheeyem
On his way back, Friede sees Liko, Roy, and Murdock trying to help Wattrel fly over the river. They head back to the ship at nightfall, where Dot, on her Rotom Phone, tells everyone that she's checking everything on the ship seeing how she doesn't know the exact impact of the Magneton's electromagnetic storm. Meanwhile, Roy wonders how to give Wattrel the encouragement it needs. Seeing Ludlow with his fishing rod, he gets an idea. The next morning, Liko and the others have a delicious breakfast, which Dot had too. Roy was busy, however, and Liko finds him with a cardboard cutout of Wattrel tied to Ludlow's fishing rod, putting his next step for Wattrel into motion. Liko and Roy go to see Wattrel and show it the plan before getting the Storm Petrel Pokémon on the rope to try and get the hang of flying. Liko suddenly gets a message from a shop about the Spicy Herba Mystica Murdock was looking for heads back to Levincia to do some shopping. Roy gives Wattrel extra momentum by swinging the rod forward. When Wattrel flaps its wings, they start to produce electricity, which snaps the rope. Roy checks to see if Wattrel is alright, and sees it hovering over the river before a gust of wind lifts it up to its flock. Landing on the watchtower with its flock, Wattrel is overjoyed that it conquered its fear as the other Wattrel congratulate it. Murdock comes over and praises Roy, having saw the whole thing. Wattrel notices Roy about to leave with Murdock, deciding to fly to him. Roy turns around and sees Wattrel flying to him, and Murdock hands him a Poké Ball, knowing Wattrel wants Roy to catch it. A strong gust of wind throws Wattrel off-balance, so Roy runs to throw the Poké Ball, which catches Wattrel before it falls into the river. The catch is successful, and Wattrel is now Roy's Pokémon, with Roy promising that the two will be great pals.
Meanwhile, Liko is traveling around Levincia to find the Spicy Herba Mystica she heard about on her phone. She arrives at an alley, confusing her, as her phone had said the shop was right here. As Liko turns around, she bumps into a disguised Spinel, who innocently reaches out to ask her if she's okay. As Liko is about to pick up her dropped phone, Beheeyem suddenly appears in front of her, using the patterns on its hands to put Liko and Sprigatito in a trance. Spinel asks Liko if she lost something important, and Liko is hesitant to answer. Spinel walks off, chuckling as he holds Liko's pendant in his hand.
