Summary

edit
Description
English: Dredger, Carrickfergus harbour (2). See 559429. One part is powered. The other aerates the water by bubbling air through it. This is supposed to loosen the silt which is washed out by the tide. Work can only take place on an ebb tide otherwise the silt is just redistributed. A similar arrangement was used at Bangor marina a few years ago.
