Description

New Orleans: Place d' Armes (later called Jackson Square) in 1849, from a sketch by Gaston De Pontalba .

Note the appearance of St. Louis Cathedral before the major renovations of the 1850s, and the appearance of the Cabildo and Presbetere with the then new mansard roof additions.
