' If you're suffering from wikistress just remember that despite all the perceived and actual flaws and problems of Wikipedia, we're doing pretty good aren't we? And if things get really bad and you think WP will go down the pan due to some massive flaw you think you've found, all revisions of its content are freely available for ever to be improved upon or distributed in a different way, any future projects won't have to start from scratch and will be able to learn from our experience! :)!'

Hello, thank you for showing an interest, interest is good, in fact essential , without it we would unlikely be here and instead still be rubbing sticks together with our monkey fingers and still being occasionally surprised when it burnt us! I'm not sure what you'll get from reading this page, but I've jotted down a few shortcuts and gadgets I use often for quick reference aside from that there's my notes on things I'm thinking or am doing and crazy ideas to improve wikipedia. Feel free to browse, live long and power to us mere monkeys trying to achieve more than burnt fingers!

History
Seems like years ago, I found some information I couldn't find in any of the popular pages on the web, in the process I found wikipedia which had a fact ( with references!) which I did not know and realised I could add mine. What a power for the people, potentially pure and comprehensive information!
Adventures
I sometimes play around trying to make entry into the world of wikipedia easier and more pleasant - from the main pages - along with strong hints on etiquette to save conflicts and misunderstandings - the philosophy being to make it easier for everyone!.

My notes
These are my shortcuts , normal dialog ends here - might be boring but feel free to read: might give inspiration ....
notes
- Draft rewrite of Wikipedia:Contact us/Article problem in /sandbox2 - suggested 1st Nov.
categories
Category:Wikipedia editing guidelines might need sub-categorisation or search order to be fixed!
In order to reference a category within a page as a normal wiki link (without adding the page to the category) prefix the link name with a colon. For example: Category:Not in this category
Main pages
hard to navigate towards policies and guidelines from front page ideas: less complicated sidebar for not logged (basic necessary toolbox elemts moved up) categories of questions etc. no single project to cover all the basic help / turorial / index to simplify new reader/editor get to grips! Wikipedia:Help Project and Wikipedia:WikiProject Contents are part but no banners on their pages or assessment of the situation or individual pages Wikipedia:User Page Design Center found by luck maybe should have higher prominence in introductory pages? Wikipedia:Welcoming committee has some links to intro pages...

random thoughts
radio one article goes to us company - seems unworldwide view? Thought needs some thought put into it :(!
adventure type parser attached to search box .. eg help subst goes soes straight to it, 'how do i xxx' searches faq and helpdesk+archives and other specific commands
no need to have '===...=' after title can get info from first lot before trailing -- are superfluous
Talk pages to act like message boards, e.g. replies to your posts, watch specific discussion Wikibackup Cite system needs simplifying and unifying average new editor will be flumoxed when trying to understand Less policy pages, and rated for simple english, succint, being unambiguous, non-duplicating Help Pages projectbanner better wikiproject introduction - new editor project maybe
