Messapia, Greece → Messapia — The current Messapia article is an ancient name for Salapia, Italy and the page is just a redirect. As the town in Greece is the only place to currently have this name, it should be moved there - but this would require deleting the redirect D O N D E groovily Talk to me 04:35, 30 October 2010 (UTC)
- Procedural close you cannot nominate something for deletion through WP:RM. Further you cannot delete Messapia, since it was merged into another page, and is required to be kept via WP:GFDL. 76.66.203.138 (talk) 13:01, 30 October 2010 (UTC)
- Alternative How about moving Messapia to Messapia (Italy)? D O N D E groovily Talk to me 15:49, 30 October 2010 (UTC)
- Well, the current Messapia is a disambiguation page so "Messapia (Italy)" wouldn't really work as a title. But Messapia (disambiguation) would. However, I'm not sure that the Greek town is the primary topic. Messapia, the land of the Messapii is probably at least as important as the Greek town. Per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, an important or even primary topic may not necessarily have its own article (e.g., Siam, Danzig). — AjaxSmack 16:51, 30 October 2010 (UTC)
- Looks like 76 changed it from a redirect to a disambig. Good call, 76. D O N D E groovily Talk to me 04:08, 31 October 2010 (UTC)

- Oppose. The fundamental assumption here is that we should only cover presently existing things; but we are not time-bound; we are an everlasting possession. If somebody named Thucydides Johnson were to become notable, we would have an article on him; but we would not call it Thucydides; wny then would we transfer the name of Messapia to a small town in Euboea?
