Welcome
edit==Well==, the very question of what quality means and includes is fairly controversial :) but there's been lots of small actions taken in lots of different places over a long timespan. Many of the same discussions about article quality and overall project quality have been refined slowly over several years. Wikipedia is so large and so diverse that producing community-wide momentum or change often means working with many of the small communities that make up the larger site and projects -- there is no single venue for addressing "the community". -- phoebe / (talk to me) 05:58, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
- I should mention the place to make proposals, for the English Wikipedia, is probably on the Wikipedia:Village Pump; and there are many wikiprojects that are working on quality issues either in general or on a specific set of articles. One of the oldest projects that has been working on quality is the Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team, whose participants developed a rating system and can certainly help point you towards other initiatives. -- phoebe / (talk to me) 01:06, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

Quick check needed
editCould you please look over User:Proteins/Draft_Welcome? I slung it together this morning as a meta-page to conjoin the Welcome pages for the individual WikiProjects and to avoid redundancy. It might advance our goals as well, especially as the first impression. I'd like to have a few of you check it before I refer it to MA today so, yes, this is a rush job. Thanks! Thanks, but
editThanks for adding Alzheimer's at TFA/R. Our Featured Article Director, Raul654, has stated that he will not run an article as TFA more than once, and Alzheimer's Disease ran as Today's Featured Article on 9/21/08. Thus, you should not add it. Feel free to add an another article at some point!--Wehwalt (talk) 02:04, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
