Daniel McClellan (biblical scholar)

Daniel McClellan is an American theological scholar, and winner of the 2023 Richards Award for Public Scholarship.

He is also known for his TikTok videos about early church history and linguistics.

McClellan started a TikTok channel in 2021 for the purpose of responding to misinformation about the Bible and Christianity.

Prior to his internet fame, he received a PhD from the University of Exeter, where he wrote a dissertation under the supervision of Francesca Stavrakopoulou. His formal academic areas of expertise include cognitive linguistics and the cognitive science of religion.
