Daniel McClellan is an American theological scholar,[1][2][3][4] and winner of the 2023 Richards Award for Public Scholarship.[5]

He is also known for his TikTok videos about early church history and linguistics.[2]

McClellan started a TikTok channel in 2021 for the purpose of responding to misinformation about the Bible and Christianity.[1]

Prior to his internet fame, he received a PhD from the University of Exeter, where he wrote a dissertation under the supervision of Francesca Stavrakopoulou. His formal academic areas of expertise include cognitive linguistics and the cognitive science of religion.[6]
