The suggestion by {{ping |Elmidae}} in the deletion discussion to move to ''[[Elina juturna]]'' may still be the way to go. :I would be ''incredibly'' wary of relying on LepIndex (the source given by Elmidae in the deletion discussion) for current taxonomical placement, as it has largely not been updated since 2011 and in more than a few cases was already significantly outdated at that time. Preferably I'd see the actual publication in which the species was supposedly transferred to ''Elina'' and recent scientific literature using this placement, or at minimum the latter—which I have, at least on a cursory search, not yet been able to find.
:Considering, then, that the [https://mapress.com/zootaxa/2011/f/z03055p061f.pdf in-depth treatment of Paraguayan Castniidae] used as reference in our article (from 2011, so of an age with the LepIndex entry; and by authors with expertise in the Castniidae, as opposed to Lepidoptera in general), treats the species as a member of the Castniidae and as placed in genus ''Castnia'' (whereas a placement in ''Elina'' would put the species outside the purview of family Castniidae entirely—''Elina'' being, after all, now and at the time placed to the Nymphalidae); and that of several databases on or including Lepidoptera that I checked, only the one explicitly basing itself on the LepIndex dataset ([http://www.catalogueoflife.org/data/taxon/6F42X CoL]) follows LepIndex's placement whereas all others I checked ([https://ftp.funet.fi/pub/sci/bio/life/insecta/lepidoptera/ditrysia/sesioidea/castniidae/castniinae/castnia/ Savela], [https://www.gbif.org/species/8323882 GBIF], [https://treatment.plazi.org/id/03C4E64D-FFB5-D92F-FF36-6E89FE4CFE89 PLAZI Treatment Bank]) use ''Castnia juturna'', I would '''keep the article at its current name''' unless and until evidence of actual scientific use (rather than use by a minority of databases based on a single shared dataset) of ''Elina juturna'' surfaces. Move following deletion discussion

The suggestion by @Elmidae: in the deletion discussion to move to Elina juturna may still be the way to go. I've not got the time to do the research, but it's still something to look into. SchreiberBike | ⌨ 14:26, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I would be incredibly wary of relying on LepIndex (the source given by Elmidae in the deletion discussion) for current taxonomical placement, as it has largely not been updated since 2011 and in more than a few cases was already significantly outdated at that time. Preferably I'd see the actual publication in which the species was supposedly transferred to Elina and recent scientific literature using this placement, or at minimum the latter—which I have, at least on a cursory search, not yet been able to find.
Considering, then, that the in-depth treatment of Paraguayan Castniidae used as reference in our article (from 2011, so of an age with the LepIndex entry; and by authors with expertise in the Castniidae, as opposed to Lepidoptera in general), treats the species as a member of the Castniidae and as placed in genus Castnia (whereas a placement in Elina would put the species outside the purview of family Castniidae entirely—Elina being, after all, now and at the time placed to the Nymphalidae); and that of several databases on or including Lepidoptera that I checked, only the one explicitly basing itself on the LepIndex dataset (CoL) follows LepIndex's placement whereas all others I checked (Savela, GBIF, PLAZI Treatment Bank) use Castnia juturna, I would keep the article at its current name unless and until evidence of actual scientific use (rather than use by a minority of databases based on a single shared dataset) of Elina juturna surfaces.
