Jarwar (Urdu: جروار) is a sub-tribe from the Gazini branch of Marri Baloch.

In the initial decades of the 16th century, they started a systematic migration from the barren hilly area of Koh-e-Marri to the plain lands of "Sivi", now Sibi; including Naseerabad , Jacobabad , Kohlu and Kahan [1] in search of better life and to keep themselves safe from the ongoing feuds and bloody disputes among the various sub tribes of Marri [2] and various other baloch tribes this tendency was extremely followed by the next generations of Jarwar tribe's men up to the last decades of 19th century after the first migration from their native land they didn't unite again and went away in different directions and routes.

Languages

Majority of Jarwar sub tribe speak Balochi language as their mother tongue. While some of them also speak Sindhi and Saraiki languages at their home.

Customs and Traditions

The majority of Jarwar tribe's men follow baloch tribal customs , traditions and values and also believe in baloch tribal system traditionally as like other tribes of Baloch.

Ethnic Qualities

Jarwar sub tribe is very peaceful and respected towards other tribes of baloch. Majority of them are educated and are mostly involved in public and private sectors and very few of them are in business.

Areas

Jarwar sub tribe is present in various areas of Balochistan , Sindh and South punjab province of Pakistan.

They live in Quetta , Sibbi , and Naseerabad devision of Balochistan.

Majority of them especially live in Mirpurkhas , Badin , Tando Allahyar , Tando Muhammad Khan including Sanghar , Hyderabad , Larkana , kamber Shahdadkot , Ghotki districts of Sindh.

as well as they also live in Dera Ghazi Khan devision of South punjab.

Religion

Almost all of the Jarwar are Muslims and follow Islam as a Religion.
