Lake Black Cow (Farsi: Deriacheh Seyah Gao) in Iran, with an area of three hectares. The lake is situated in a topographic setting distinguished by the prevalence of elevated plains and mountainous terrain.[1]
Lake Black Cow is divided into two distinct bodies of water due to a narrow passageway measuring 70 meters in length, 8 meters in width, and 4 meters in depth. This passageway serves as a conduit for the connection between the two lakes.[2]
The initial lake is oval shaped. The depth of this section of the lake is not deep.[3]
The primary factor contributing to the transparency of the lake's water is the substantial absorption of mercury. The clear and fresh water of the initial lake flows into the subsequent one.[4]
Etymology
The lake is also referred to as the "Lake Black Waters" due to the profound darkness of its water. The lake was designated the "Lake Black Cow" due to its visual resemblance to a cow's horn.[5]
