The village Novo Laniste is placed in the district of the middle Pomoravlje flow of the river Morava, seven kilometers far from Jagodina.

There’s an electrified double-gauge railway-track across the village, connecting the Central Europe with the South Eutope and Asia. The international road E-75 is nearby.

The river Belica, a tributary of Morava, is running through Novo Laniste.

According to the census from 2002. there’re 694 inhabitants in this village. Most of them are the Serbs and members of The Ortodox Church.

There’re two super-markets supplaying people with the necessary goods, an agricultural pharmachy, a veterinary ambulance, a post-office, a railway station, two bus stations, a school, three churches, a football club and a local administrative office.

Novo Laniste also has a folklore ensemble called “Zivadin Jankovic – Kum”.

A great Serbian army leaders Vukoman Aracic was born in this village (1850-1915).

A football is a very popular sport in Novo Laniste so the village has its football club called “Mladi radnik” (“The Young Worker”).

The club is compiting in in the first league of the PFA of Jagodina (Parish Football Association of Jagodina).
