A lory is any of about 50 species of small, fast-moving, brush-tongue parrot from Australia, southern Asia and New Guinea. See lorikeet. They are considered some of the most beautiful parrots, with very playful accrobatic personalities. The length of the tail distinguishes a lory from a lorikeet.
