Nahathai Thewphaingarm was a Politician and Member of the Parliament, Thailand (2005-2006)and a Vice Announcer of the Thai government (2001-2002).

She left the party just before Thai Rak Thai party members got banned. She is on the board of an English program at the Thewphaingarm School called TSEP. A family run school in Bangkok. She has her Ph.D in education from University of Wisconsin. She was a Politician and member of the Parliament. She belonged to the Thai Rak Thai party who had 111 members banned from holding political positions or be involved in political activities for five years. She left the party just before Thai Rak Thai party members got banned. She has close ties to Thaksin Shinawatra who was ousted from power in a coup in September 2006 and awaiting trial for several corruption allegations. It has been rumored the ousted Prime Minister Thaksin had an affair with Nahathai. Her family is also helping Dr.Thaksin in his upcoming court battles.
