Eve Hewson (born Eve Sunny Day Hewson on 7 July 1991) is an Irish actress. She is the daughter of U2's lead singer Bono and Irish activist Alison Hewson. She was named after being born on July 7 at 7:00, due to "eve" is the middle of "seven" word. [2]
Early life
Hewson was born in Dublin in 1991, the second daughter of Bono and Ali Hewson. She has three siblings: older sister Jordan and younger brothers Elijah Bob Patricus Guggi Q and John Abraham. She was educated at St. Andrew's College in Dublin and attended New York University (NYU) prior to making the decision to become an actress.[3]
Career
Behind the scenes, her father was just as vociferous in his desire for Eve to stay away from performing:
"Both my parents were against it" [4] Eve persevered and signed up to New York University determined to prove her acting bug wasn't just a flash in the pan. After almost three years of acting classes, theatre production, theatre design and academic studies, she graduated in 2013, leaving her free to pursue acting full-time.
Hewson made her acting debut in 2005 alongside her sister Jordan in Erica Dunton's short film Lost and Found. She made her feature-length debut three years later in another film directed by Dunton, The 27 Club. That same year Hewson took part in an acting programme at the New York Film Academy. In 2010 she appeared in the music video and accompanying short film for Irish band The Script's song "For the First Time". Hewson's highest-profile film role to date came in 2011 as she starred alongside Sean Penn and Frances McDormand in Paolo Sorrentino's This Must Be the Place.
Personal Life
Eve Hewson met James Lafferty in 2007 while filming The 27 Club in Wilmington, North Carolina. The two began dating in 2010, and briefly split in September, 2012. The two subsequently reconciled and live together in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
Hewson is allergic to gluten, as noted on her Twitter feed on Valentine's Day of 2012 when she was delivered cupcakes from an acquaintance.
Her cousin, Ross Stewart, is an Australian model. [5]
She finished her course at New York University ahead of schedule — but she had to buckling down and focusing on college work until the end of summer.
