War of Internet Addiction
“War of Internet Addiction” (Chinese:网瘾战争)is an online video, which is a satire on the mainland Chinese government’s attempt to “harmonize” China’s Internet with forced installations of Green Dam Youth Escort and the travails of mainland Chinese World of Warcraft players over the last several months.The entire video uses the online video game World of Warcraft graphic and characters, with voices added by Chinese from Taiwan and mainland China.
This online video express the frustrations faced by mainland Chinese WOW players as they are restricted to mainland servers, and help to portray their normal feelings to the real world, as they are often being seen as Internet addicts dwelling inside the virtual worlds.[1]
Main Characters(Real and fictional)
- Kannimei, fictional, leader of rebel WOW players.
- Yang Yongxin (Uncle Yang)[2], is a 46-year-old psychiatrist Shandong Province, who was reported to have use electric shock therapy on young Chinese so called Internet addicts.
Oil Tiger Machinima Team
This is the 3rd movie by Oil Tiger Machinima Team released on Jan 21st, 2010. Two days after this movie was released, it was banned on all major Chinese video sharing websites.[3]

During an interview, the producer 性感玉米 stated that there were up to 100 people involved in the production, it took three months and costed zero dollar, as all the staff were volunteers.[4]
Terms used in the video
Room 13
In the video there was discussion about a torture chamber by the name of Room 13, where Uncle Yang would apply electric shock therapy to WOW players[5] .
Room 13, a place I will never forget, in there, I had experience of ten thousands swords went through my heart, when the electric shock was applied to me, I prefer death.
